Latest Update from CWU

Post by theargyspy »

Acas facilitated talks between CWU and Royal Mail as per the Joint Statement from 4th November 2022 concluded yesterday.
The CWU Postal Executive are meeting today to discuss and debate a report from the CWU Negotiators.
An update should be coming out later today after the CWU Postal Executive Meeting.
As it stands at the moment, the strike action for 24th and 25th November is still on, as is the 30th November and 1st December.
Updates will be posted on social media platforms and CWU Notice Boards once they are received.
Royal Mail have to make an announcement to the markets on 17th November on their current and future financial position, as well os on the current disputes.

Strike dates still going ahead can only mean an agreement still hasn't been reached 🤔

I'm sure that will probably be covered in an announcement that's no doubt going to happen later today. :hmmmm

We had the comms that they've been talking over the weekend (must be important!), we've had the comms that Monday & Tuesday were "Key" and we've had the comms that the PEC is meeting today and an announcement will be made. Lets wait and see what's happening, I suppose if it's GOOD NEWS for us they'll probably cancel the upcoming strikes ... If it's not they'll post notice of the next two dates.:cuppa

Doesn't mean that to me, it means they aren't going to cancel the strikes until the PEC have signed it off

No formal notice of the following weeks strikes (which needs to be today) leans more towards the opposite.

Cwu twitter today

Remember when Shapps said the RMT didn’t speak for their members? Remember when the right wing said rail workers support was drifting.

They’ve just delivered a 91% yes vote on a reballot.

If working people stick together, nothing will come through us.

Well done @RMTunion

Notice has been served...

Also LTB mentions new dates have been agreed for December. It doesn't look like we're doing the deal just yet ..
