RM delaying mail by forcing customers to use Parcel Collections

Post by ohnaka »

Several customers have complained that they can no longer either print a label to drop off at a post office or CSP or use the click and drop where they are sent a QR code for us to scan and print the label for them.
The RM website and App starts by saying the customer had these options but the last page before paying only gives them the option of a collection from home.
Forcing them into arranging a postie collection.
They were trying to post on a Saturday for delivery on Monday. The only option online was for a collection on Monday. Delivery on Tuesday.
Surely this is delaying mail?
As I understand it this is a sackable offence?

Understand what you're saying, they've made it seem like that collection is the only option, but the final step before you pay you can delete/remove the 'Collection' from the basket.

Who would you sack for delaying the mail though?

You can only delay mail that is already in the system because of technical issues nothing can or will be done and management don’t delay mail it’s just an oversight

WILLFUL DELAY was always a sackable offence back in the day !

That's a dark pattern. It's like the checkout on Amazon: big 'CONTINUE AND SIGN UP FOR PRIME' button versus tiny plain text 'no thanks'. The intention is to trick people.
The machine stops.

Is 'delay of mail' something that was introduced because of the USO to prevent Royal Mail from getting fined?....

or was it a tactic brought in by Royal Mail to bully us into completing?

It's now a daily managerial instruction to delay the mail.

weekly in ours, ...well i mean there's a weeks worth of mail in nearly half of the frames, and trays ans trays under them. their petty overtime ban has backfired on them goodstyle in ours. serves them right.
