Can’t wait until Thursday to see if Simon is being truthful. If the figures say otherwise he will have egg on his face

Creative accounting it’s called
They will not include all their expenses they have spent on
For example all the new super hubs etc
Just blame us

For me - I don't feel my round is any less busy than it was a year ago other than not having 5 or 6 test kits a day to deliver.
On the other hand we have been employing less staff. Taking 2 days mail out every single week after our day off. Staff numbers are down 30%. So RM will be saving a tonne of money there.
If the rest of the country is like our depot you would think they'd be at least making the same amount of money they were in the previous year...
So I am not sure where it's going 'wrong' - if it actually is....
Are they simply accounting for a tonne of investments they have made into new hubs, electric vehicles, new uniform, new automated systems?....
Is the 'loss' actually due to modernisation costs?

i think you remove the WE , as its nothing to do with any of the staff , and its down to one bloke and his piss poor running of the company , revisions that didnt work , failing christmas , paying our so called competitors to delivery our stuff , paying agency staff to do posties work , paying managers to work during our i.a , failing deliverys to save overtime , do i need to go on ? , so any loss is down to him

Letter mail is not down letter revenue is purely because we had geniuses at the top who set prices for whistle Uk mail etc and they were far to low and have not been increased enough therefore we are delivering it for more of less nothing

I can’t help thinking if the company is losing a million a day what the hell is its marketing people doing ? . Instead of blaming posties maybe they should pull their fingers out more instead . For example What advertising are they doing apart from a bland slogan on the side of their vehicles . I’m sick and tired of us getting the blame all the time

They arnt losing £1million a day, ? as said on another thread Consignia were apparently losing £1.2million a day 20yrs ago.and I believe they were losing £1million a day when Alan Leighton was in charge. Number crunchers will be doing their thing

Despite paying other companies to deliver their stuff, GLS is going to show record profits.

There are lies damn lies and then there are statistics. Figures can be manipulated to show whatever you want them to. RM are probably using the same accountants as Liz Truss. That went well.

If a company can post record profits in April, then in the same year go to record loses. Surely the person in charge would be sacked for incompetence.
