Aim high and you just might get it

Post by deadbox »

Liverpool dockers celebrate major victory with pay deal worth between 14.3% and 18.5% Liverpool dockers employed by Peel Ports have won pay hikes between 14 per cent and 18 per cent plus, according to job grades, after a deal was secured by Unite, the dockers' union.

What % are we likely to get ?

we have to aim high, there are vasts amounts of money to be made in parcel companies so we deserve a cut,the money is there or else why did shareholders get given 400 million, anything les than inflation and the union can do one i won't vote for it,if we were to get 18% i'd do 1 in 4 sundays and start an hour later.

Agree aim high. Never give in to force. Conditions are right to continue the strikes.

Thing is we would need 25% if all the changes they want in one go they can not afford it and a fair few of us still would not accept it this whole dispute is of the making of one mans ambition over common sense and reality! It is like the war in Ukraine ST thought it would be a pushover it is not we will prevail and make ground and we have already done so by our actions. Thing is unity is strength what ST has done is sold the CMA a kipper and all the managers who are like seals love kippers and laying on the beach doing nothing. That tactic will not work for us as we all WORK for a living and we have a backbone and don't take too getting clubbed on the head by some cockroach from Oxford University!

Yes but thats what they deserve ,the dockers deserve 18% and got it ,i'm sure unite would get us at least 12% no strings because that's what we deserve and we would never agree to 5.5 .

Why are you so confident unite would get us a better deal. Please stop comparing what other people get we all fight our own battles ffs. what unite got for managers is piss-poor but we all know they would accept a pay cut just to save there jobs.

Disagree managers don't deserve any more as they don't do nothing now,we deserve 12%,i'd be surprised if the CWU come back with a large payrise but i might be wrong,we set out for an inflation no strings lets just wait and see if the cwu crumble.

The talks are on pay and change. By your definition the CWU has already crumbled.
If you are expecting a no-strings pay rise then that boat has already sailed.
If you are still expecting an inflation busting no-strings pay rise then I think you might need to sit down.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
