CWU live tomorrow 7pm
The Communication Workers Union
Royal Mail Group’s latest move is a disgrace. We are proud that you have seen right through it.
Job losses, two tiered workforce, site closures, ripping up terms and conditions and attacking your union.
Tomorrow we will take stock. Our executive meets to consider the next steps in the dispute. This is a very serious moment.
We will be live at 7pm tomorrow in the biggest session in the unions history. Please use every moment between now and then to make sure every colleague joins us online.
Facing an out of control CEO and erratic employer, your union will be calm, measured and deliver a set of actions which will take this company to a place they have never been before.
Stand up for yourself. Stand with your colleagues. Stand with your union. See you tomorrow.
Dave Ward General Secretary
Andy Furey Acting Deputy General Secretary (Postal)

Re: CWU live tomorrow 7pm
Well thank God they've seen it for what it is, and not put this to the membership.

Re: CWU live tomorrow 7pm
The union shouldn't be entertaining any discussions with Royal Mail.
Let the striking do the talking, it's embarrassing to even engage with them.
Let's stop sounding shocked and using the word disgraceful all the time, carry on, let whatever they want to do happen then hit them fuc*ing hard with action.

People are just angry now.
A job that people were once proud of has turned to sh*te.
They ain't gonna negotiate a deal when they don't have to. Wake up and smell the bullsh*t.
Pound Thompson's dick into the dirt.

Re: CWU live tomorrow 7pm
Something really drastic needs to be announced from the union tomorrow. Something along the lines of one day in then one day out running from 15th November until Xmas.
It’s time to go nuclear I’m afraid.

I cannot wait for tomorrow's session of waffle. This guy isn't budging, I don't give a damn what anyone says, we can go out until hell freezes over, he has his takeover. He wins either way.

Re: CWU live tomorrow 7pm
Any proposal from the CWU has to take the members with it. If you start "going nuclear" you're just going to lose the less Militant/Determined/Bloody Minded.
It's difficult enough at the moment for Unit Reps to persuade a lot of their colleagues to Strike for just one day a week, it's a fine balancing act and if the CWU get it wrong you're likely to be stood on a very thin picket line whilst the rest of your colleagues succumb to the finacial pressure and return to work.

This isn’t a serious offer. Its so He can tell ACAS that He has tried to settle the dispute and the Union threw it back in His face.

The CWU got it badly wrong with their and the CWU lawyers incompetence leading to the next 2 weeks strikes being called off. This incompotence has opened a wide open goal for Thompson and co to do what they have announced today. That said, I will never cross a picket line, financial pressure and a return to work argument can be made for anyone, but crossing a picket line is an absolute non starter for me. Like I said at the start

I agree but there is no picket lines to cross for the next 2 weeks , so let’s see if they can thrash out a deal, if not Xmas is cancelled.drfeelgood wrote: ↑31 Oct 2022, 20:17Any members who dont see how serious this is never will.......Dorset Plodder wrote: ↑31 Oct 2022, 20:04Any proposal from the CWU has to take the members with it.
