Seek professional medical help.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09

Go for it , as long as your a decent one that doesn’t suck up to the manager and stitch up his work colleagues like ours.

No medical help required. He's clearly batshit crazy - so perfectly suited to be a union rep.

One of my old reps is friends with a couple of bully's who mentally and verbally tortured me, ended up having to extricate myself and move to another DO, lost shed loads of OT, but I don't dread going in, or wanting to kill myself on a daily basis.

Hmm. Maybe I won’t. Just thought it might help people in these dark days.

You do help in many ways, you can change peoples lives for the better.
But remember, you cannot please all the people all the time.
Give it 6 months & see what you think.

Maybe the union should restructure itself and lose the highly paid execs. Pay local reps instead. The union would be stronger for that and have real local meaning.

Re: Thinking about being a rep
If you are any good you will be able to help people.
It takes time to become good at the role. You will also need support from your Branch and Area Rep.
But give it a go. Why not?
There really is power in a union.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
