CWU,How can you help members pay bills?
So I and many of my co-workers will now be in monetary difficultys due to the Cwus new strike dates.
Can any-one advise how they can help us continue to support the strikes for the next month or so?
Is there a strike fund for example?

Your Branch might have a hardship fund.
Ask your rep.
Ask your rep.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

One thing that definitely needs to happen when this dispute is finally resolved is the Union needs to do is slim down.
It has got extremely bloated.
There seems to be a Officer for everyone.
It needs to get back to basics ie Strike fund , Investing in local Reps , Making sure every unit has a Rep that gives a s**t.
I see they have put the HQ up for sale which is a start.

Do you know that everyone in the CWU is on strike that is BT Royal Mail and Post Office £4 a week don't go along way to a strike fund. We could see the writing on the wall some of us and cut our cloth why did others not do so.Binsey wrote: ↑29 Oct 2022, 19:27One thing that definitely needs to happen when this dispute is finally resolved is the Union needs to do is slim down.

Re: CWU,How can you help members pay bills?
No not a manager, just someone who is actually looking for advice along with other co-workers who are concerned about paying for kids, houses, energy bills etc, while still supporting the strike action and not being able to book docket.
As for 7 posts in 10 years, well with the above answer you can see why I don't bother posting on here.
Thanks to all who have replied without accusation

Re: CWU,How can you help members pay bills?
Listen not getting on a high horse but the way things are going we need to do this now for the next month or so. It is not easy for anybody the miners strike of 1984 was not easy that took 6 months or more and they did not win. Let us all see that we can win not a total victory but gain something rather than a total defeat that Simon Thompsons vision is for us all.
