Thompsons reply to the parliamentary letter

the one the CWU had sent to him signed by a load of MPs. he's replied to it on his workplace forum again. i will have to post it word for word again as i dont know how to put it on here so,,,he says;- Team - a post this morning- a letter from CWU parliamentary group....
Our issue is a business one, not a political one-and how we need to change for customers-so we can win in the market.
I don't see anything in this letter-about CWU leadership behaviour-over the last five months, and repeated last Friday for all to see-perhaps we will get the opportunity to update the signatories-on this letter in parliament soon.
As i said in my update this morning-CWU, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH-before more great members of our team-lose their job.
And as i have been saying for months-2% was a down payment-we want to pay more. .......thats the shite he has replied. i notice he doesn't/isn't going to the talks to negotiate but he has plenty to say behind a keyboard or camera. this bloke is a complete wrong-un. what a moron.

it's not that hard to at least offer us 6% as a next step.....

I could walk into a meeting and offer a number.... it takes seconds....

it is Royal Mail that have to give us the pay offer....the CWU can't make it up for him.

Whether it was £758million profit (due to covid) or circa £400 million that Thompson states, the fact remains that if the Royal Mail are on target to lose over 365 million this year (1.2 million per day according to Thompson) then why is he still in a job? Thats a loss in real terms of 2/3 of a billion quid. I would have thought that a CEO who gives away £400 million in dividends and awards senior board members/executives (including himself) large bonuses when they are fully aware that the business is less likely to be able to sustain covid level growth/profits is acting in an incompetent/self-fulfilling way. The sooner that di*k he*d is booted out the better.

Liz Truss was canned today. Hopefully the board will see sense and boot him out soon.
