My local postie has been taken off this round due to a repick ...however...I now rarely have the same postie 2 days running..yesterday ...the one doing my area could barely speak English and he asked me to read out the bundle which had been prepared for him...are these casuals being primed for use during the next strike ?...is this practise being used elsewhere in the country.?

He also is on more an hour than the Royal Mail postie.
You couldn’t make it up, these agency staff are on over £14 an hour. RM must be paying the agency about £22 an hour.

People complain about the "Us and Them" mentality with management and staff, yet have no compulsion doing it with agency staff.

For the record, most ANGARD staff I know support the current dispute 100%.

If contracted staff suffer a loss in terms and conditions and salary, so do they.

As for salary they get £14.85 an hour for nights. That works out the same as contracted staff who receive a seperate night allowance premium. These rates only kick in after 12 weeks service. Before then they do no even get paid for breaks.

Quite right. Many a casual has passed through out office and at the end of the day we are all there just trying to make ends meet with possibly families to support! If people want to create a them v us scenario make it between the CEO/board and the grunts on the ground!

Most at our office are hardly any help, they come in at 9 and will work till 5 yet som try’s to put them in a shared van with experience posties, last week I went out with one eventually ready at 11 o’clock and came back at 210 on my finish time, we didn’t even get 1 walk finished as he was so slow, I did his best oversized parcels and special but I still finished my first loop before him! The second loop he had only done about half whilst I finished and I’m not fast at all, I know they only want to work like we all do but in my experience they just haven’t got the know how and experience to get the job done. Our rep says this is what the future looks like as they don’t want any new permanent recruits, well god help them! I just keep cutting off with these guys who then go back out and finish at 6 o’clock! Just not working but management think it’s a great idea

And there you go, I've said all along upper royal mail management are totally convinced this is a minimum wage, any fukin idiot can do it job, and yet again it's become apparent how wrong that assumption is.
