Update on the USO Pilot Units bulletin 1

Post by POSTMAN »

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Duties put back in.
Agency workers being utilised.
Overtime available for cut offs.
Staff brought in from other offices.
Night shift staff brought in.
Postie jobs being advertised.
Plenty of savings then LOL.

Duties being put back in is a red herring. It's just a way of spreading out the 50% of duties that don't get mail every day.

Well who'd have guessed that, rurals untouched stay nice and easy especially Mon and Tues whilst shared duties shafted every day especially Mon and Tues with 3 days mail on the alternate duties

Ah yes, another prediction come true...

From the bulletin: "There is an interesting indication of customer response to the pilot, with Reps in the Division reporting that some customers who previously sent out magazines, gift cards and periodicals, have switched from second-class mail to first-class. This has, so far, had a significant effect on combined days."

How would operations fair under Half Daily Delivery if the bulk of stamped mail shifted over to first class after implementation? [...] First class is already being prioritised on duties and loops not going out so it would be reasonable to assume this would play out similarly [to the explosion in Tracked] when the public catches on that 1st class letters are the only ones meeting their targets.
Any Questions?
Yeah, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?

Not quite true. About 30 duties taken out and 3 walks are getting put back in along with a DPR duty.

Probably the fallout from that letter RM sent to businesses last month telling them of their pre-emptive plans. Since rollout is reportedly on hold that would presumably boost revenue from converting DSA and 2C volumes to 1C this summer.
