We can't be losing money anymore as we keep giving away free collections to customers

It's always a £Million .
Lost a £Million on 20.000 misdelivered parcels. Expensive that for the crap we deliver.

How are they free? They are still paying postage and we get all of it, in comparison to if they take it to the post office where they take their own cut. Why posties continue to complain about services that pay their wages is beyond me.

Three out of four parcel collects I had today weren’t available when I got to the door. One took ages trying to find the parcel then rang her son twice who didn’t answer. One was a business who didn’t know where it was. One didn’t have a clue what I was on about.heraldmoth wrote: ↑07 Aug 2023, 18:51Free collections and endless re deliveries and this is the quiet time for parcels roll on the double yorks at Xmas
I have also never had a busier Monday for small packets. And we are supposed to be working less time next summer.

Re: Million pounds a day
Surely they must be making millions a day now because they are receiving money off companies and not actually delivering it when they are suppose too,i wonder if they know Royal Mail are ripping them off nicking their money, plus the 1000's of staff gone and not replaced.

And so is knocking on someone’s door to deliver a parcel. The price they are paying for postage alone is worth it for RM. Especially when you consider how much cheaper it is to send items with our competitors.pieoftheday wrote: ↑07 Aug 2023, 20:19Because the collection part is the service they were paying for

Re: Million pounds a day
The company made massive profits during the pandemic mainly due to:
Covid kits
Increased parcel traffic
Not delivering the mail everyday, particularly on Saturdays
Fast forward to 2023 and whilst we aren't delivering as many test kits, judging by the number of Yorks arriving through the doors, parcel traffic has not dropped off in our office. In fact, we are delivering even more parcels than ever per postie because they got rid of duties and have added 200-300 calls per frame. There are less staff and bigger duties and we are still not delivering the mail everyday even though they have ramped up postage prices. There are less vans as many have been de-commissioned. In addition to this there aren't as many staff going off sick with Covid as there were during the pandemic.
After the bonus payments have been made and when the seasonal variations and new sick policy kicks in I would be very surprised if we are not actually making over a million pounds a day.

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: Million pounds a day
Same old crap, we are losing a million £ compared to during covid figures, if we can't make money going by the number of parcels then give up. You aren't good enough, with poor management to steer the Titanic along the Amazon River to destruction.
