So we will be having a vote on this deal, so what are the particulars;
• When are ballot papers going out
• What will be the question / voting options
• What is the closing date for the ballot
• Is the vote only open to just CWU members or all employees effected?
• IF it’s CWU members only - what is the cut of date to be registered as a member to receive a ballot?
• AND - if a member cancels membership after that date will they still be granted a vote.
• What are the factors determining the vote? Will it be a simple majority wins? Does there need to be a certain % turnout to carry the vote?
• Who is carrying out the vote (I assume CWU) and is there an independent party overseeing it (and if so, who)?
Thanks

Re: Vote particulars
The PEC will decide this next week it will only be members of the CWU for that is who they represent. Well you missed the cut off date as to leaving they can and the vote still holds. This is not a strike ballot so simple majority and if any percentage above one vote it will carry. It will be independent as per I/A ballots!

Re: Vote particulars
I’ve put forward a set of questions to try and cover all concerned.
The bit about leaving the union is interesting - given the many I’ve seen commenting about stopping their subs.
If they can do that and still get a vote, that enables those who dislike the deal to show their dissatisfaction twice.
I assume the PEC will wish to get the ballot moving quickly and a result declared soon rather than later.
