The end of the union as we know it
Well i guess this could be a watershed moment in the CWU history. It seems to me there washed there hands with this and are just looking after number one and there positions in the union and trying desperately to hang on to there cosy jobs and high salaries.
Going by the response on here and social media the union is done ,they have read the room very badly indeed and they are now getting a massive backlash ,with a vast majority of members ready to stop there subs and leave the union. I have no idea where we go from here but its a terrible mess and it will leave a bad taste in the mouth for a lot of us.

If that's the case then welcome to the Gig economy.

Some people don't like unions and we can call them or the leadership of the union but never be in any doubt anyone who pays subs is the union and it is a democratic institution you can all do Dave Ward job if you want, While none of us can be the CEO of Royal Mail even though a cabbage could have done a better job on that score!

Re: The end of the union as we know it
this is exactly why i think it will be a yes vote. there IS no plan B. if a no vote is achieved what happens? do the union go back in to re-negotiate. not going to happen. its a pile of shite deal and i think the union has been well and truly played. the acceptance of this crap is their ''get out of jail free card'' and there's no getting away from it. Wardy and Fury now have to sugar coat it and sell it as the polished turd that it is. i am totally pissed with them, but it is what it is.

they will say RM wanted this....they wanted that, but we've got them to backtrack on those things , they wanted start times moved 3 hours but now its 60-90 mins. all this s**t was a smoke screen from the get go, cos RM wanted 90 mins in reality anyway, so now they've got it, and the rest of their s**t that they REALLY wanted in. union fell for it hook line and sinker.

They are complicit
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
