Delivery routes not being covered.

Post by Jb1969 »

As the title suggests, within your delivery office how many routes are not being done on a daily basis on average.
And do you have holiday/day off cover?

About 5 that partly fail although 1 wasn’t delivered at all for 3 days although it’s cleared now.
Holidays are covered and Rota etc for every walk except those 5 it seems…

Around 3/10. Pretty much all of them partially fail though, as they are all impossible to do in the time. I’m told partial failures aren’t as big of a deal as entire duty failures to the higher echelons, which is why they stuck the lapsed duties that were failing onto everyones frames in the revision. Even if it makes their figures look good, it doesn’t make any difference in the real world as we are still failing the same amount of mail (or more, due to staff morale declining further).

7 Routes not done only done every other day so technically a 3 day a week service bot 90% fail everyday since revision a complete USO failure but never seems to get flagged up,wilful delay cant be a thing anymore or we'd never have no bosses left.

Usually 50% of the walks stay in unattempted, sometimes more.

Not had holiday cover or even day off cover for years. No staff for that.

We are a small office half hct, half Park and loop,2 Park and loop fail everyday, and 2 or 3 hct fail everyday, agency workers take out only the packets on the failed duties, also me and my partner stopped prioritising tracked packets about 6 weeks ago,we just plod on until finishing time, bring a couple of loops back and that's our starting point the next day, seems like failing tracked items is OK now in our office, and as for trying to give the customers a regular delivery time slot,it will never happen

Taking into account the above replies(appreciated)are a tiny representation of the delivery offices within the UK, one would suspect that 1000’s of deliveries are being failed on a daily basis.
So, the USO is an Act of Parliament, its law, under what grounds do you think the board can justify breaking the USO?
Is this just a financial decision?
Do you believe it’s pressure to possibly move it to a 3 day delivery?
Any other comments are welcome.
