Trolls!!

Post by 49erman »

The ‘Trolls’ (we all know who they are) seem to be doing a really good job of winding people up on here, especially during this sensitive and frustrating time. They are latching onto the division that seems to be growing amongst us and the possible outcomes going forward. They enjoy the challenge of us ‘rising’ to their comments (or possibly even paid to do it?). So what we ALL need to do is block them, add them as a ‘foe’ if we all did this they would soon give up and scuttle back to Thomsons side……… :cuppa

I don’t like to block posters as sometimes it’s good to have an alternative view to your own but your right the likes of filthy bloke / Redlen are on here to constantly spread poison, don’t know if they are just lonely losers or managers.

When you have the likes of the Socialist Worker and Moaning star criticize the CWU, are they Trolls as well as they do not currently subscribe to the CWU echo chamber of thought in that all posts have to go through the political officer first and face the prospect of Stalinist purges?

That is fascist ideology and for the record, contrary to the CWU own constitution.

RM has been astroturfing on this site for a few years now, and it’s best to view the messages of certain members through a very sceptical lens. I personally have blocked some of the more obvious ones, but there are a few out there who are more cunning, who subtly sway opinion while supposedly offering balance. While this place shouldn’t become an echo chamber, beware those whose opinions never sway whatsoever, or who defend the indefensible.

So, on a thread that's making a very serious point about trolls (or whatever we should call them), the likes of redlen still pipe up. The use of Orwell is pathetic and downright insulting - what a misappropriation of an intellectual giant.

It's difficult to know what to do about the infiltrators. Yes, they're probably sad and delusional loners, but they'll just respond in their predictable uneducated way. Redlen has made some deplorable remarks, as we know. Is ignoring such behaviour enough? I don't really know now.
At the end of the day you are just postmen [sic].You deserve nothing more than what's been offered and probably a lot less.

Can say the same with a small minority of CWU Trolls who try and shut down any alternative view that does not fit the party line with insults and bullying behaviour. That includes the Socialist Worker/ Moaning Star editorials.

All of the posts by the individuals in question are carefully crafted to tell part truth, part rumours and spread discord among CWU members. It is an age old tactic to divide and conquer. In WW2 they were called fifth columnists. Their aim was to spread doubt and uncertainty by spreading rumours and false information to demoralise the general public. The difference now is these people are called out. Then they have to start quoting free speech etc as a cover for them to carry on. There is big difference between free speech and spreading disinformation.

Have you ever considered why Trade Union Membership in the UK is at its lowest level in 50 years?

The Miners strike showed a valuable lesson.

People are no longer prepared to be bullied by the hard line Trotsky elements within a trade Union with its views that belong in the 1970s.

The world has moved on with globalization, including EU trade union membership.
It is only the UK that has this Us and Them mentality first identified in Royal Mail with the 2009 government report from Lord Hooper.

Another pointless comment. Read very carefully what timbo has said above.
Just look at various threads now. The game's up, redlen. There's nothing you can say now. The game is up.

40 years of draconian anti trade union laws and the complete eradication of large scale industries which relied upon hundreds of thousands of workers. No industry, no need for unions.

Your next question

And why have those large unionized industries disappeared?

Let us look at the genesis of decline

British Leyland as an example
