How does this effect Parcelforce?
I know this is mainly at Posties chat room and all, but I have to wonder, should RM go into administration, what happens to PF?

Not to create fear or alarm but Thompson was quoted as saying
So given that, they could bin it off if it really isn't making money or they could remodel it to be profitable, but who knows what the appointed administrator would do, there's talk of having a 'one network' pipeline for all the parcels so does PF fit into that or not?POSTMAN wrote: ↑04 Nov 2022, 10:49Simon Says
Team - not true - what I said was the PFW model - as it stand was never going to be profitable - it needs to change - and because of the poor profit trajectory - the value of PFW in our books is £0.
I also said - that thanks to me, the business has not been closed - because I believe in it - and we need to find a way of using the large parcel capability to the advantage - of all of Royal Mail in the UK - large parcels are a fast growing part of the market.
More to come on PFW soon - the hint is in the title - ParcelFORCE…!

They will follow the Dpd model …… Owner drivers across the board. PF cannot compete with DPD having salaried drivers unless them drivers are prepared to do 130 - 150 drops a day.

Exactly DPD is owned by La Poste the french postal company and made 11 billion euro's worldwide last year ,no wonder the czech billionaire wants in on this sector, the delivery sector is making owners billionaires while treating the workers like slaves,If i was to go from Royal Mail hell would have to freeze over before i'd ever work in this sector again.scabbyhorse wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 04:46They will follow the Dpd model …… Owner drivers across the board. So he believes in a company that has 0 monetary value but not on the letters part of RM that brings in 40% of the company's revenue?norm wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 23:15Not to create fear or alarm but Thompson was quoted as saying

I’ve been asking that question for months. Which business leader would throw away 40% of their income?pieoftheday wrote: ↑26 Mar 2023, 16:17So he believes in a company that has 0 monetary value but not on the letters part of RM that brings in 40% of the company's revenue?norm wrote: ↑25 Mar 2023, 23:15Not to create fear or alarm but Thompson was quoted as saying

Because it takes the most man hours to deliver. You might throw away 40% of income but if all letters ceased to exist and all we had was parcels you could probably get rid of 80% of workforce.pinstripe wrote: ↑27 Mar 2023, 04:13I’ve been asking that question for months. Re: How does this effect Parcelforce?
If you're on the section in the DO that sorts the small packets from the MC, a good chunk of them are technically large letters even though they've passed through the system as packets
