Re: Cwu time to ramp it up overtime ban ballot
An overtime ban could be counterproductive, as alot of people rely on overtime especially when losing money on strike days also. It would be the tipping point for alot of the workforce.
The rolling strikes will be far more damaging than single days.

Continuous rolling strikes over OT ban for me any day.
I don’t do OT but some of my buddies will break if you take their OT.

They have an overtime ban. And then recruit agency workers who are on more money to clear the work
You couldn't make it up

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Overtime s mental in our office after the strikes, bosses want it cleared, most walks clearing in a couple of days. So much for no overtime to clear it up. Most are better off striking with the OT they are getting.

I think an overtime ban would be a tactical mistake, yes it would have a huge effect on Them but I think too many people, especially part-timers would break the IA then having a knock-on effect on the rest of the staff. Plus, how are we going to police it? Are we going to have people standing on the doors checking what time people are starting and finishing or are we just going to rely on people's morals? Rolling strikes definitely the way for me but announce December dates now.
