This is because they’re worried about managers and unite joining us in this fight

Personally I would be shocked if the cma/ unite actually came out on strike, toothless to say the least.

Is there anything new in the document?, can’t read it on my smartphone. Without looking I’m guessing it’s just another rewritten copy of the same old rubbish and Simon has had it smartened up by somebody on 100k using Microsoft Paint.

It looks like a briefing for those manager ambassadors they're sending around. But you're absolutely right. That CWU. Always being a hassle. Things need to change. Etc. etc.

Points 5 and 7 seem contradictory. No change for existing employees, but want to talk with union about changing our terms and conditions.

Briefing document for managers from CEO
telling managers to follow his lead and to ignore the Union. From now on all those represented by the CWU are to be at the receiving end of strong and decisive management.

Policially we are entering a period dominated by trickle down economics; and in
Employment matters we are entering a period of trickle down BULLYING.

Could have saved themselves all that and just put EXECUTIVE ACTION

Executive action at its finest telling us all that Royal Mail "will be doing this" and "will be doing that"

Its like me telling my son you will be washing the pots tonight and going to bed at 9pm. Plus, we will be taking your TV out of your room, confiscating your phone on a night and don't even think about asking for any more pocket money.

What do you think would be my son's reaction to all this??

Clearly Simon is showing that he doesn't have any people skills
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

You sense he thinks he's the modern day Margaret Thatcher taking on the Miners union, didn't he claim his father was a miner?, the main difference is RM will still need all it's workers to all carry on working after this dispute is finally over.

Perhaps all the T&C's were made unacceptable purely so we'd strike and the "Agenda" could then be torn up, now it has been the T&C's will be watered down?

We've heard that paid release for union reps is being axed everywhere

Ouch if that’s true the effect of that alone will surely be huge. I assume that’s all area reps and above? So that means either they do it in their own time or the union will have to start paying out for it?
