Two rammed full boxes of sequence, second boxes 75% full, loads of magazines (all this for 1 duty) Worse than a heavy Wednesday. There was definitely two days mail volume. Out at 10.50. 14 specials. Take out 12 loops brought 10 back

Did you inform your line manager before you went out on delivery that you’d be cutting off?

Don't be silly .
Mr Thompson and his team of managers cleared everything the other day.
I know because he said so. Don't think he did door to door thou.

Half and shelf brought back, and 45 minutes O/T booked
Get ready, tomorrow is apparently even worse.

Re: Friday 2nd Septembers workload
Why are u taking it out if your not going to deliver it, just leave it in the frame. Was a leisurely day today, sorting till late, prepping till late, deliver afew tracked and specials then back on my sofa for 2pm.

Re: Friday 2nd Septembers workload
You took back 10 loops? Fair play. Had one bag just specials, double mail and some customer collections on top. Been on late starts over the summer as I'm part time still but everyone is being called in early tomorrow. Hopefully some hand backs and an unmanageable workload for a Saturday.

Re: Friday 2nd Septembers workload
A ridiculous work load for us. Brought back tonnes. Too much prep work which meant the amount of delivery time was reduced significantly. Lots of timed specials and when it's this busy you have to drive off and do them otherwise you'll never get there in time - reducing the amount of delivery you can do.
A complete mess.

Re: Friday 2nd Septembers workload
The plan is keep the letters in the frame and just deliver the Tracked items. Some of those letters include: Bank statements, credit cards, letters from the NHS.
All the usual unimportant stuff
Weirdly enough we have agency staff and hire vans. Both not utilise today. Got to keep costs down
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Isn't the frame going to burst with too much post soon?

Re: Friday 2nd Septembers workload
It doesnt matter how much mail etc we get, its very simple this.
We all have a start and finish time (allowing for pouching off, of course), and any overtime done is an own goal, as why bother striking, then deliver the cr*p on overtime in the following days
If you are going to go over, let your manager know that you might be cutting off before you leave the office, then let him/her know about an hour before you intend to cut off, then finish at your finish time, no stress!
