Major disruption
Can anyone please tell me where the backlog of work is? It's like a Tuesday in my office..
We've been on strike for two days and it's not even having an impact

Re: Major disruption
the stuff will be in mail centres and could take days for them to even scrape the top off it , and when the company think that they are getting back on top then we are out again on strike

Free one today, just about to leave the office, not bad at all here. I think tomorrow will be hammered but ah well we'll not worry about that until then. Have a good day folks

Priority will be given to the newest stuff. Any item can only fail onceworktotime wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 09:18the stuff will be in mail centres and could take days for them to even scrape the top off it , and when the company think that they are getting back on top then we are out again on strike.
I wouldn't be surprised if in some MCs all mech staff and any non-DDA manual letters and flat staff will be taken off their usual sections to work packets and Tracked, with SD lockers pinching SD locker trained staff from other sectionsTrueBlueTerrier wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 09:07letters dead - small packets average but busier on large but not excessive.

Just back from our wave 1 collections and everyone has either bulked out or is full to the roof .

Re: Major disruption
Maybe we should simply be bringing the collection staff out for the duration, with everyone else paying a day's wage per week into a strike fund to pay the collection staff 80% of their normal pay.
If the packets and letters don't get collected in then it would quickly bring RM to its knees.

Re: Major disruption
No collections from post offices for 4 days. Friday was strike day followed by a long weekend. I’d imagine no collections from a lot of businesses during the same period. What was collected on Tuesday would not have been processed to reach DO’s yet. Another strike day yesterday so 2 days worth of mail to be collected today. We will hopefully see the impact over the next few days.

Your manager would just hand you keys to a van and tell you to do the collections.Schiff wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 13:40Maybe we should simply be bringing the collection staff out for the duration, with everyone else paying a day's wage per week into a strike fund to pay the collection staff 80% of their normal pay.
