This is the final paragraph of a report in today's Guardian.
'Staff have been handed a 2% pay rise, backdated to April, and a further 3.5% increase if they agree to changes in working practices. Staff stand opposed to these changes and argue they should receive pay hikes with no strings attached.'
Not altogether untrue, but it's pretty close to be written as if by and for tory scum. Disappointing.

It's really just a combination of lazy journalism and underestimating/understanding the limitations of your reader's intelligence.
