Terry on Facebook-Worth a watch

Post by POSTMAN »

Personally normally can't be arsed with these as it's usually the same o same o, but this one is quite informative, and mugs Royal Mail off...
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Yes vote is coming.

Hopefully Royal Mail will realise what they are trying to do isn't going to work, review things and come back to the table with a fair offer.

A fair offer in my eyes is matching the national living wage increase of 6.6% or offering 4% and a £2,000 lump sum. I'd prefer the latter.

This is not asking for too much at all. This is fair, even though in real terms it is a pay loss.

Get your employees back on your side. A happy workforce is a stronger and more motivated workforce who will go above and beyond for you even without you having to offer bonuses for doing so.

I’ve been a pretty big critic of Terry and his media appearances in the past but this along with his radio performance the other day is much better. I couldn’t disagree with a word he said or the way he said it. :Applause :Applause :Applause

I think that Terry does a good job of keeping us informed of the negotiation's and where they are at. But for this battle I think much much more should be made of the fact that Super Si and the top table are the biggest hypocrites in RM history regarding the bonuses they are paying themselves, the pay rises they award themselves, if the company needs to save massive sums of money then why not lead by example?
Now there’s a thought!!!

I thought he came across well. :thumbup

I'm not disagreeing with the tactic but you can still get a resounding YES vote without needing a gate meeting. Luckily I work in a smaller DO and the Unit Rep can get around and chat to most people, must be a nightmare in these really Big DOs (where I can see the benefits of Gate Meetings). They just seem so anacronistic in these current times. :hmmmm

I anticipate a very high proportion of returns, with a resounding YES vote, in my DO. :cuppa

Ah, we love a gate meeting in our DO. Whip 'em into a frothed, cheering frenzy and then send 'em back in pumped and surging with anarchic venom.

It's worth it just to see the whites of the managers' eyes.

I can imagine it getting emotional in some DOs. Trouble with these kinds of situations is that if I start gobbing off at someone I'll end up getting myself into trouble. I can just about manage ignoring them when I'm in the Office but if someone starts grizzling about losing a days pay, or that they don't agree with striking, then I'll just launch off. :cuppa

But I hope you put that cuppa down first, Dorset. H&S at all times, even when tearing someone a new one.

This video pushed out by CWU on 6th Jul is pretty good in explaining the current situation with
the pay issue and it looks like there's going to be a totally separate vote on the changes
RM want to force through (from 20:35 of the video). This is youtube not Farcebook, so most people should be able to view it from here:
