Ballot / Strike Dates?

So anyone know when the 4 week notice period ends? Can we not ballot during this period? How long will the ballot take and when can we expect to go on strike? Just in case it might be worth getting organised. I get the feeling Royal Mail may be stringing us along again.

Best not to. Why chance giving RM something to get a strike ballot ruled invalid by a court?

it's a legal minefield to strike thanks to the tories, 4wks notice of talks was given around 2 weeks back, then if no progress then a IA ballot can be held straight away even if talks ongoing, which i believe takes another 4 weeks before IA can take place after a yes vote and not even sure how much notice is given to actually take IA
saddens me to say that the CWU team are still going down the social media platform that got theirs and our arses kicked in 2019, it's cringeworthy seeing the pics on twitter, just stay silent, pop the simple headlines to the daily papers about the true nature of the offer going, i see headlines in all the major newspapers about us turning down a massive pay rise and we must conform to to the rest and work 7 days
i bet 99.9% of the public think we are turning down a 5.5% pay rise, the CWU HQ are absolutely useless at communicating with the public, they think every uk resident is liked by them on twitter and youtube and will know the facts
if they don't help us gain a victory for us in this fight then they are all finished because they'll be no union after and we'll be fecked

totally agree with what your saying here. The cwu p.r. Is crap Royal Mail WILL feed the papers with we refused a 5.5% pay rise and make us out to be greedy b@@@@@ds it’s time they stepped up there game and let the public kno what’s actually happening and the service we provide will get worse all for shareholders gain.

Starting tomorrow will be week 3 of talks, nothing can happen until at least w/c 6th June unless talks get extended.

Bare in mind that if we are balloted then this will take in December.

Another week of talks, goodwill extension probably of a couple of weeks, lead up to ballot and results, another month. Inevitable court case, another month. So probably nothing till Aug/Oct.

If you want to know the outcome of this pay deal, look back in time to previous deals. The union always backs down & has secret talks where a deal is struck. Always to the detriment of the employee & with the tagline, "It's the best deal we could get".
Royal mail employees should have their own anthem. A song that sums up Royal Mail & the union perfectly is a song by Pink, called, "What About Us". Listen to the lyrics carefully, sums it up perfectly.

Any deal good or bad will get voted in or out by deliveries. DO staff must outnumber RDC and MC staff combined by at least 2:1, probably more like 3:1 or even 4:1 with the way staffing is going in MCs

They’re playing the waiting game.

The cost of living will go up further so more members won’t be able to afford to lose a days pay on strike. Some staff will leave RM for better paid/easier jobs so they can either be replaced with staff on the new contracts which include sundays or not at all.

Well first of all no but this year they are asking for a no strings pay rise. Secondly my point is I don't know about you but I can't afford to wait much longer.
