What's being forced through where you are?
In my DO, as of tomorrow...
No early starts for PTers even if there's 2 on a double duty.
SA down to 3 days a week
Overtime only being offered to FT staff
Collection routes consolidated into a couple of massive ones, callers office staff being asked to do them
Additionally revisions happening "within a few weeks," and all staff have been told that as of march 1st our start and finish times are an hour later. Our rep says that's just the stuff they're telling us about

Only thing our office has in common with yours is the manager announced revisions will be happening within the next few weeks. No ot is being given out as our walks are being absorbed.Kenfandango wrote: ↑23 Jan 2023, 21:29In my DO, as of tomorrow...

Your office sounds militant. What's the logic of only offering it to full timer's?

Sounds like they’re trying to force PT staff to quit.

Its the pressure they are applying now ,they have advisors on how to bust unions and this is one of them telling you how much is going to change and there is nothing you or the union can do,(which is legally right) but and a big but we still at the moment in this country have the right to strike and getting a big yes vote and continuing with strike action puts a big spanner in their agenda, keep highlighting the wrongs they are doing to everyone out there, stay strong and together and lets show these few and i mean few elitists that we will never surrender so they best move onto another company to make their millions, IM VOTING YES !!!!!!

It’s an overtime ban by another name but it shoots themselves in the arse because it will result in a backlog of mail which they are now under scrutiny to clear because of Thompson’s lies.
They have to pay overtime: yesterday I was going to run an hour over so I gave the com the option of either I bring it back or they pay the extra hour. They paid the extra hour.
They are expecting us to clear for nothing. Don’t give them that as an option.
Led by Clowns
Vote YES.

They cannot exclude the part-time workers from any overtime available.
Less favourable treatment of part-time workers
5.—(1) A part-time worker has the right not to be treated by his employer less favourably than the employer treats a comparable full-time worker—
(a)as regards the terms of his contract; or
(b)by being subjected to any other detriment by any act, or deliberate failure to act, of his employer.
(2) The right conferred by paragraph (1) applies only if—
(a)the treatment is on the ground that the worker is a part-time worker, and
(b)the treatment is not justified on objective grounds.

Re: What's being forced through where you are?
X amount of walks being axed and added to existing walks.
This is all I have heard about so far.
Mail will continue to be delayed indefinitely. USO failures on a huge scale continue for another year.
If people started taking their breaks that would screw their plans and the backlog would be daily. At some point the government / ofcom will surely have to step in.

Inform said managers that what they are doing is Union busting.
Then remind them about their Union.
Stand back and watch the penny drop!
I'M VOTING YES.
edit: I'VE VOTED YES.

Same here. Overtime has gone. Barely anyone needed to work day off.

Re: What's being forced through where you are?
After seeing that union live talk yesterday, it has to be a Yes vote for me. I was thinking what's the point before but Dave & Andy exposed Simon & the board even more last night makes it a no brainer.
They showed that clip of how Simon changed the criteria for how they receive bonuses. Supposed to be based on company performance but they changed it to value given to shareholders. Unbelievable.
Just proves everything the union has said to be correct. Definitely need Thompson out. Vote Yes

part time workers are almost never on a saturday rest day rota - so there goes any compliance right there
