Childish CWU-It's not a game!

Post by POSTMAN »

Didn't see it as I have not got the energy to go through the whole session, but...

I agree the two blokes that held up "vote yes" shouldn't have done it but I doubt the CWU put them up to it. There were a number of things that were cringe worthy yesterday and that was the least of them. Sorry.

I think if you check you'll discover that one of the people holding up a sign was the CWU's Head of Communication...

have just looked, and yes you are correct. I'm not impressed. So that's another person that could've showed themselves and their company in a much better light.

Any subject debated in Parliament demands a level of respect for all involved. Have to agree holding up a sign is no better than an individual doing exactly the same thing behind an outside broadcast interview. People are talking about how unprofessional that was rather than the substance of the debate. For a head of communications, he should know better and be impartial to that debate.

I thought both Dave Ward and Andy Furey came across very well at the Select committee.

It's a shame a couple of numpties at the back had to spoil it.

Why give Simon Thompson ammunition to divert the focus away from his own embarrassing performance?

If that's not a doctored photo, he's an absolute a**e for doing that. It's up there with him and his boogie box
outside Rico Back's house in Switzerland or wherever it was.

Er,no they aren’t

Webb let the union down yesterday, no doubt. By contrast, Dave Ward was top draw, as so was Andy on the Post Office debacle.

This dispute has got to such a serious state that both sides are brought before a Parliamentary Business Select Committee - being broadcast live on national TV - and the CWU Head of Communications chose to sit behind Thompson acting like one of those planks you see standing behind a news reporter in the street pulling funny faces etc.

After Dave's sterling performance the total focus should have been on Thompson sitting there pressing the self destruct button, but no one could ignore Webb's buffoonery right behind Thompson.

I hope that Dave Ward gives Webb the Sir Alex Ferguson hair dryer treatment in a quiet room.

Who are the two directly behind Thompson? Don’t recognise them.
