Doesn’t that mean the new starter contracts will be minimum wage when the rise comes in ? If that’s the case , they’ve got absolutely no chance of either recruiting or keeping any new people.

No chance of that-hope I’m wrong but can’t see the rise being anywhere near that.

Don't you just love how the union have agreed to talks until just BEFORE any of this has beèn confirmed in Thursday's budget?
Use information like this to your advantage- at the moment RM will just bat it back until confirmed officially.
Totally useless negotiators.

Apparently Jeremy *unt is going to freeze the tax free allowance of £12570 until 2028.
Look like he is going to steal as much as possible from the Working Class and de-incentivise work.

More money for the government. Raising the basic rate tax threshold would be better for workers but they have frozen that for nearly a decade (or til the next election).

It's already frozen until 2025.
Proper stealth tax that one is.

Yes, he's going to freeze most tax thresholds for working people, and let wage inflation do his tax increases for him.
While also increasing benefits in line with inflation. And cutting most other public spending in real terms.
That's where we're at with this Tory party, incase anybody was unsure.

There is no difference between the Tories or Labour anyone who believes this is beyond help.Murdoch wrote: ↑15 Nov 2022, 10:09Yes, he's going to freeze most tax thresholds for working people, and let wage inflation do his tax increases for him.

Increasing Benefits in line with inflation whilst workers wages fall behind guarantees a collapse of the Welfare State.

The Tories and Labour are basically a Uni-Party.
