Spineless CMA
The managers have done the dirty on us and voted to accept their deal. Guess that's the end of that avenue of help in our dispute. The ducks are being lined up nicely.....any minute now the shotgun is coming out and it will game over.

Re: Spineless CMA
How is it a surprise. There’s very few of them in Unite anyway as far as I’m concerned I couldn’t care less what they do, I’m more bothered about the upcoming biannual RM/CWU shafting.

Yes we don't expect anything from them. I didn't like Dave Ward asking the Royal Mail managers for their support either. Surely he must have realised we are on our own with this dispute.

The day we ( CWU ) rely on managers to help fight our battles for us is the day we're in real trouble . Remember , if we go under it won't be long before they follow us .jessicarabbit wrote: ↑10 Nov 2022, 10:01The managers have done the dirty on us and voted to accept their deal. Maybe that's why Dave Ward was aksing in the first place?walthmstowman wrote: ↑10 Nov 2022, 11:31The day we ( CWU ) rely on managers to help fight our battles for us is the day we're in real trouble . I got the impression he was desperate to get Unite onboard with our dispute.smok3y666 wrote: ↑10 Nov 2022, 11:41Maybe that's why Dave Ward was aksing in the first place?walthmstowman wrote: ↑10 Nov 2022, 11:31The day we ( CWU ) rely on managers to help fight our battles for us is the day we're in real trouble . Re: Spineless CMA
Results of Unite/CMA ballot on pay
We are pleased to confirm that, following three weeks of productive discussion and a ballot, the pay offer we negotiated with Unite/CMA, has been accepted by their members.
We are also pleased the offer has been viewed as fair and reasonable as it recognises the valuable contribution our managers make to the business reflecting the intrinsic role they need to play in securing the future transformation of Royal Mail.
Pay talks regarding managers in Parcelforce are still ongoing and we will update you as soon as we are able to.
A pay offer worth 5.5% plus a £1,000 one off cash payment
As a reminder, the agreement reached is for a pay offer of 5.5%, which covers the period from 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2023 and comprises three elements. This offer would apply to all grades within the negotiating group junior and middle managers in RMG (excluding PFW):
1. 2% basic pay increase from 1 September 2022 (backdated) with flow through for all overtime, allowances and regional pay.
2. 3.5% basic pay increase from 1 September 2022 (backdated) with flow through for all overtime, allowances and regional pay linked to changes outlined below.
3. In addition to the 5.5% pay offer, all managers in grades within the negotiating group junior and middle managers in RMG (excluding PFW), who did not receive this payment in October, will receive a £1000 one off payment (pro rata for part time managers), which we are aiming to pay in November. This will include those managers who have been on sick leave, maternity leave, special leave, and parental/adoptive leave:
The 3.5% mentioned above is contingent upon agreeing to engage and find solutions to the changes outlined in the ‘Programme of Works’ under the Transformation Agreement between Unite/CMA and Royal Mail, in order to find solutions and implement prior to June 2023. Specifically:
Managerial resourcing that reflects the needs of our customers including (but not restricted to) seven day working methodology and attendance time changes to fit with Royal Mail future transformation
A commitment to review pay progression and alternative reward mechanisms that enhance our ability to retain talent and reward high performance.
We would like to thank our Unite/CMA colleagues for their constructive feedback and input in what has proven to be progressive pay talks. We are pleased that together, we can now start in earnest to build on the Transformation Agreement from last year and collaborate for the good of our people, our customers and the successful future of Royal Mail.
We know our managers have been through significant changes this year and really appreciate your efforts throughout what has been a really challenging year. It has been great to see you at the recent Beyond events engaging in our vision for the future of Royal Mail and we would like to say thank you for your continued support, dedication and hard work.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Managers are as much in the firing line when the start losing OPGs.
They all have a short memory anyway, the company only recently announced redundancies for 2000 of them.

Re: Spineless CMA
Thing is, don't forget that they all got a massive pay bump when changed from DOM/Line Managers to COMs. I think starting is now £40k + bonus? 5.5% on top of that is way, way more than a 5.5% offer to us.

Re: Spineless CMA
The managers of this firm live in fear. They get what they are given. I've seen them shuffled from unit to unit just because there was even a rumour that they may have rocked the boat somehow.
They were never going to go out on strike or support the posties struggle, if the RM ship goes down they'll all be meekly fiddling away on the deck as it sinks.
Thompson's bitches.

Re: Spineless CMA
People are havng negative vibes towards the CMA, But they are nothing to do with Royal Mail being a managers trade union.
They are doing exactly what the CWU are doing negotiating a better deal for their members.
But that is as far as it goes with me personally, being a trade union they need to uphold the values of trade unuionism and support other trade unionists
The us and them mentality continues, no wonder Royal Mail is in the state it is
