New Deal?
What if we agreed 7% back dated form April and disallowed change would you accept it we all know change is going to happen but to railroad it through. Would A 7% pay rise be good enough without change to anybody's contracts?

Re: New Deal?
Really 7% with strings when we’ve had strikes for a no strings pay rise I’m guessing I’ve got to get realistic now that’s not going to happen and we’re just going to have to get the deal of the century

Re: New Deal?
As to the 7% I was using RM figures with change but we can get a better deal they will put the price of stamps mail parcels in April they said it themselves last time they raised the price of stamps! 7% is the starting point not having a go at some on here but we have to aim low first too see where the bullets are hitting and then we will find our mark!

Re: New Deal?
It's more cost effective to put your letter in a box and send it as a parcel. You can even have it collected at your abode.

Re: New Deal?
The trouble is that we're not dealing with rational people. Management could have had this all done back in the summer for a modest pay rise. Instead, they had to lose tens of millions to get to the same point they could've been.
So yeah, even six percent with few strings would be enough to satisfy the work force. But who knows?

While I do agree the same thing will reoccur this is not some kind of birthright but ineptitude and lack of competence of the CEO it endemic in the population of the rich society we all live in who gains the most!worktotime wrote: ↑05 Nov 2022, 18:03i dont care what they offer as i have no TRUST in thompson to run this company and he with spit his dummy out and throw his toys out the pram if he doesnt get his way , so this bloke needs to go regardless bybye

Re: New Deal?
7% backdated ontop of the 2% already imposed with no changes, yes. 5% backdated with the 2% imposed to make up to 7%, no.

Re: New Deal?
What RM wants is minimum wage workforce with no restrictions ie meal reliefs Sunday working and variation of hours in our contracts this will not happen as along as we protest and strike and stand firm!britwrit wrote: ↑05 Nov 2022, 18:26The trouble is that we're not dealing with rational people. Re: New Deal?
That's sort of what I thought, but why not offer us 10% no strings, knowing we'll accept it straight away thinking it's the deal of the century then after Xmas shaft us up the arse into the middle of next week.

Re: New Deal?
Why hasn't alternatives to RM's proposals been looked into?
Later starts - Why not split mail and parcels, have dedicated parcel drivers. Mail could be delivered by full and part timers 5 days a week first thing in the morning then the next days mail could be sorted by full timers when they return from delivery ready for the next day keeping the finish time as it is.
Annualised hours - No lapsing. Finish early in the summer, your paid until you sign out. Overtime in the winter is optional, not enforced.
Any other ideas?
