Is it not possible for the union to announce the night before a strike to call it off for the day. Can you imagine how much damage that would do to the budgets, having hired agency staff to come in etc. Or even just announce bogus strikes, RM wouldn't know whether or not they would need any agency staff. Or would this be illegal. Thoughts

They can cancel ageny staff any time they like.

The problem with that is how many of the workforce would have gone to the pub that night thinking there was no work the strike day and were too drunk to come in the day after.

We were joking about this the other day on IPS saying what if we all just turned up on the strike day, they'd have to pay us and although we'd have to deliver whatever came the damage would still be done.

We have one of those, was on holiday for 2 days of the strike and 2 more have fallen on rest days but he has worked all the others and crosses the picket line because he can't afford to lose time yet goes to the pub drinking all weekend. He could at least strike a couple of days as he has been lucky for others to fall on time off

That's why he can't afford to strike. Because he's self centered. Why strike for a better working life when you can sit down in the Dog and Duck getting pished?!!!
