Above & Beyond Bonus Scheme
LTB 268/22 – Royal Mail – Change Proposals
Proposal
In addition to offering industry-leading terms and conditions, we propose to work with the CWU to create a bonus scheme for colleagues who help us go ‘Above and Beyond’ our productivity targets and share the benefits 50/50.
Current proposals are as follows but we want your input to design the scheme:
• Applicable to Delivery & Processing for one year but with option to extend if successful. It would be discretionary not contractual.
High level objectives:
• Drive productivity improvements at a unit / MC level / RDC level based upon individual targets
• Accelerate year 3 Pathway to Change targets in year 2
• Productivity gains realised at a unit level with individual targets being agreed. benefits would be shared 50/50 between the employees and the company.
• There would be eligibility conditions at an employee level
Reason for this proposal
We want to create a culture of success which colleagues can share in. In the Pathway to Change agreement, we introduced productivity targets, but we are not achieving them in most workplaces. We want to incentivise colleagues to work as a team to achieve and exceed these targets.
We believe this approach could deliver incentives of around £500 per year, per employee. It will improve our productivity as a business and that will help us grow, compete and success as well as continue to offer great jobs.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

A bonus scheme just like our imaginary shares we got years ago!
The ones which remarkably paid out nothing!
You can shove that where the sun don’t shine

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Above & Beyond Bonus Scheme
Does anyone have any idea how they would expect this to work in a delivery office, are they going to count how many more letters you can sort than someone else in the same time ?
Maybe not, so is it who can run round their walk the fastest ?
And even if it is one or both of these scenarios who's going to monitor it ?
Oh hang on what about working as a team so if you're knocking on a bit and can't run round your walk, maybe your walks not piss easy so you'll never finish early, will that encourage some of our valued colleagues to start criticizing others even more than they do now for letting them down and holding back the bonus ?
This job is getting a bit rubbish.

Re: Above & Beyond Bonus Scheme
I'm going above and beyond now, with the longer delivery spans... there's no more beyond to go above. I'm a long way from retirement too, so how the old timers with many years service are going to go that extra mile is beyond me.
