Re: IHR
I don’t either I had the same when I spoke to optima, she said they don’t recommend LTBIH either but I know from reading some of these posts that they do, all I can think of is that it depends which clinician gives you the assessment, they should all be following the same rules

Re: IHR
When I had my IHR phonecall with OH (Optima) they told me that the purpose of the call was to discuss IHR/Ill Health with Lump Sum and asked if I was expecting the call/have I been told about this by my manager. I had and they were pleasantly surprised. Apparently people frequently just get booked an appointment to talk about leaving the business with no prior warning and it was a relief to her that it wasn't one of those calls.

Re: IHR
no worries mate i dont mind saying
was seeing OH for just under 2 years, was on indoor light duties for 2 years, was off sick there for 4 months. Origionally yes it seemed as if they were holding the process up. I was waiting for 2 surgerys, i had one of them but after having one of them they refused to do the 2nd surgery at this time.
i more than happy to share more information through PM with you if you wish

Blimey Im waiting for 2 surgeries for spondylolithesis, stenosis and compressed nerve roots I think maybe 4 different procedures but won’t know properly until I have my consultation, but I wouldn’t be able to go back on light duties as one condition affects my walking and the other affects my spine so IIm in pain when I bend or carry things

Can't walk 50yds without being in bad, very very bad pain.Terrance wrote: ↑02 Dec 2023, 17:28Blimey Im waiting for 2 surgeries for spondylolithesis, stenosis and compressed nerve roots I think maybe 4 different procedures but won’t know properly until I have my consultation, but I wouldn’t be able to go back on light duties as one condition affects my walking and the other affects my spine so IIm in pain when I bend or carry things
Have had double angioplasty on both legs, not helped, they refusing to do bypass unless my legs falling off
To much weed for to many years
Was on indoor duties for so long due to covid and all the delays that happened there.
I know I've been way more fortunate than others, but it is what it is
I wish you a speedy recovery, or that you get the help you deserve and need, for as much as I moan and have a gripe I like my job and at 46i wish things were different and I could fulfil my duties and support my kids grandkids

Re: IHR
So In real terms if you have been off 6 month you only get 3 month pay off does this sound correct?Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑17 Jul 2023, 15:43There is no mention of any deduction of sick absence in the new agreement.
6.4.3 Leaving Royal Mail through Ill Health (LTBIH) Where employment with Royal Mail comes to an end due to ill health and the employee meets the criteria for LtBIH with lump sum, they would receive a fixed compensation payment of 16 weeks’ compensation. In addition, the employee will receive a payment in lieu of notice and a payment in lieu of any accrued but untaken annual leave. This change will apply to ill health compensation payment authorised on/after 1st August 2023.
