National briefing are normally called to go through the negotiator’s agreement with senior reps who then go back to their respective branches. Local reps are then invited to meetings to go through the agreement and then sell it to the membership.
I might be wrong but they should release the documents now if it’s been endorsed by the PEC.
Any further delays are totally unacceptable.
Strong agree.
I’ve been very understanding of the lack of communication during negotiations. I’ve understood there has probably been confidentiality clauses and agreements to not make public statements whilst a deal was reached. Now it has been reached, and assuming the PEC has endorsed it, there is absolutely no reason not to let us see it now. We are adults. We are quite capable of reading and understanding an agreement and forming our own opinions.

I’ve reliably been informed that after Fridays meeting there will be a briefing next week for local reps and there will be workplace meetings after that to explain it to members and that is the normal procedure as it has to be done properly.

Why is the CWU spending all of our subs on this? Surely an online meeting would have covered it without dragging 60% of branches over a minimum of 150 miles to attend. Sound like an excuse for a jolly boy's weekend at our expense
Probably because it is arguably the most important agreement any of us will be involved in with this job. They need to ensure that it is explained throughly and communicated to all members afterwards. They spent enough money bussing members down to London for a photoshoot during the action. This is much more important.
