Heard on the Grapevine that our MC later starts won't be happening until the Delivery Offices have had their revisions with later starts brought in. So there will be a period where the majority of the work will be sitting in Delivery Offices with no one to sort itSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑05 Feb 2023, 10:04To a point revisions in MCs will have a knock on affect on revisions in DOs, when work arrives later into inward MCs, which will result in final dispatch times to DOs being made later

The duty realignment in our MC on nights although a complete and utter shambles and will probably be unworkable, has us finishing at our normal time. So no later dispatch.

The mail largely arrives in trucks to our MC which then gets tipped. The airmail AFAIK is more specials and international items. So, if they stop the airmail, the trucks, unless the drivers start later too, will still arrive at the MC at the same time.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑05 Feb 2023, 10:04To a point revisions in MCs will have a knock on affect on revisions in DOs, when work arrives later into inward MCs, which will result in final dispatch times to DOs being made later
What is the first link in the chain that leads to us all starting later?

You don't start or finish later in MC's, the next shift will wrap up your shifts overspill work, it's manned up 24/7.
Later starts are purely a DO thing.
Later starts are purely a DO thing.

If the final dispatches from outward MCs get put back then that certainly will make everyone's start and finish times and MC>DO dispatch times later. If Skynet gets reduced or axed then the mail will take longer to reach the inward MCs.Splappy_McSplap wrote: ↑12 Feb 2023, 09:57The mail largely arrives in trucks to our MC which then gets tipped. Over the last 2-3 years there's been major changes to the arrival pattern of the work into Inward MCs. At one time we'd get two artics from some RDCs, one early and one later, both part filled. Now the early ones have been axed and the later one is full, normally a double stacker (don't know if RM even have any single stacker trailers left)
Not always, the next shift will have their own workplan to complete which will take priority over doing the failure of the previous shift. In a smaller MC, the next shift might have the room to have the setups in place from the previous shift

So, for DOs that are attached to MCs, that is unlikely to make a difference that would result in later starts?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑12 Feb 2023, 10:41

It'll still result in later starts as the mail would arrive at the inward MC laterSplappy_McSplap wrote: ↑12 Feb 2023, 13:18So, for DOs that are attached to MCs, that is unlikely to make a difference that would result in later starts?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑12 Feb 2023, 10:41
