Yes Thompson baited Ward and he fell into the trap.

With the CWU calling a ballot with the pay dispute contravened the no strike agreement (Breach of Contract) and legal undertakings contained within the Agenda for Growth Agreement. Simon Thomson immediately then went on the attack tearing up terms and conditions
My point, not anti union, been union man for all 15 years of my RM career.

But I just think we handled it wrong from the beginning and have been playing catch up since.

Don’t disagree Thompson wants things changed quickly but we helped him do it quicker!!

My advice to them is, do yourselves a favour and find another job.
Royal Mail is a s**t company NOW. A job in deliveries is s**t NOW. Management disdain for their staff is at an all-time high NOW.

If their capitulation becomes the norm, then this company, this job, and the disdain for staff from managers, is all set to get even worse.

This is a job very few want, a company very few actually want to work for.

The recent 'register your interest for redundancy' showed that. Over-subscribed almost as soon as it went live.
And that's without the planned worsening of terms and conditions this damned company want to inflict on us.

Economic conditions have seriously worsened since any ballot papers were last submitted, for many this was a knee jerk reaction at the perceived injustice of the imposed 2% raise, and the quest for an improved offer, one that has ultimately materialised in the 9% offering, albeit over 18 months, Royal Mail relies on the financial health of its customers, will there be any appetite for a raise in stamp prices for example when everyone’s tax brackets have been frozen for a number of years and fuel costs remain high due to the drop in value of the ££.

To those who suggest that members should go without holidays, beers, festivals etc, well let’s just all go back into lockdown shall we
I see this is your first post. There will be someone along in a minute to accuse you of being a manager :chuckle

It’s not 9 percent and if you’d understood the offer , it never will be.

I have 3 young children my mrs is at uni these lads at breaking point iam at breaking point but I can see futhur past my end of my nose
There’s other jobs out there and help out there they can get at the moment

I’d rather be skint die on my feet than work for these Royal Mail twats at the moment
So you’d rather see Royal Mail go completely under and 115,000 people lose their jobs.
You’re complaining about there’s other jobs out there for these lads maybe it’s you who should be looking for other jobs if you’re no longer happy with your employment.
We are a private company and like any company whether I or anyone else like it is all about money for shareholders.

There are very few jobs out there that pay as well, yes there is a few but there are also very limited number of jobs where we get the perks we get.
Paid breaks, very good sick pay. And to be fair the wage isn’t awful.
Yeah & that's why those with a backbone are struggling but still fighting hard & not giving in with weak excuses to break strike

Have you got kids???
Yes and a backbone
Have you ???

Yes 4 kids, all under 5, struggling to feed them, don’t eat myself half the time. Borrowing money from family left, right and centre and now Defaulted on my mortgage last month supporting my union.
And as far as I can see we are in a worst position than we were at the end of August.

Yes. A backbone to face up to bullies like you to protect and support my family.
Getting real embarrassing now the stuff you’re posting.

Utter lies.
And that’s your opinion. Doesn’t make you right!
Just like my Opinions don’t make me right but they’re my opinions.

This started off months ago as a dispute for a no strings payrise, we are still striking and will continue to do so until that ballot expires, we have already lost that fight. If the union reballot for a no strings payrise I for one will vote against it. Now, we will not get any rise over and above the 2% without massive strings, people on here might not like the reality that RM can and seem to be doing exactly as they want. No agreement we get will be worth the paper it is written on because no agreement is legally binding. We had the deal of the century a few years ago with a nice no strike clause written into it, as soon as we took action that gave RM the opportunity to tear up that agreement. It was called out on here at the time as a s*** deal and still it was recommended. At some stage there has to be a deal and we have to trust RM will stick to it. I don't believe they will so what do we do? Strike forever? No chance. My area rep said to me when we last had a chat, if we don't win by christmas, the best time for us to win, we have no chance of ever winning. Nobody has to believe me and the bully boy gobshites on here can do one, the silent majority do not come on here and loads have never heard of this website. I have no idea what the outcome will be, I am hoping for the best and fearing for the worst, you just have to stop slagging off people that do not agree with you or you are no better than RM.

So your wife will have been entitled to 2 years paid maternity leave in the last 4 years?? I may be wrong but I think basic legal minimum is 6 weeks full paid maternity per year.

RM don’t pay 6 months out of the goodness of their heart, they pay it because previous generations fought for it.

There is no obligation on the employer to give a pay rise on demand
How can I make this any simpler?

Can you answer the question I asked you please?

Did you vote for strike action or were you happy with your 2% and the changes for the rest of the crumbs?
just ignore the c***
