What happens to your pension if redundancy is taken. Also I presume it’s not possible to take a lump sum at 55
Nothing happens to your pension!
If you're in the RMPP/RMSPS, it will continue to grow with inflation until you take it.
If you're in the RMDCP, it still goes up and down in line with your chosen investments.

The normal access rules will apply to your pension, which is currently age 55, due to rise to 57 in 2028.
That is the law, not RM specific and applies whatever your employment status is.
What would happen to avcs

The same as above^

Their value will still fluctuate with your investments and they can still be used to fund the tax free cash when taking your NRA60/65 benefits. Or else transferred out.

They're making a list of people who will be most willing to get f*cked about.

It's a preference exercise, some people might be willing to stay at Royal Mail if they could work at their preferred office or if they could go part time etc.

Ok, I used the app and stated that I was interested in VR but didn't get a calculation? I've now stated I want VR and can't go back! I hope it really isn't binding because I haven't told the Mrs yet!

You can login and follow the process as many times as you like.
There are boxes to put your age and assessible pay into you will then get your estimate.

Ask your manager.
Our managers were taking names on a piece of paper - believe it or not, her pen ran out of ink!🤣

Union are asking you not to engage with RM
Where have the Union asked this? Today??

Maybe because if posties go to their managers and ask about VR they are showing interest in what RM has offered thus far. Managers report back all interest to Senior Management. If enough people show interest then RM senior management knows they don't need to negotiate a better VR package with the union. Ergo, your genuine curiosity will likely be used against you to your disadvantage.

click on prefference exercise , put in your age and how many years you've been on the post and it'll give you amount of weeks .

times your flat weekly wage by that number add the 6k bonus and that's what they'll pay you .

Remember the 6k is pro rata
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
