“Given our biggest cost is overtime, a 50% reduction target will be introduced in Delivery and Processing to the end of fiscal year.
This lot are the biggest bunch of jokers going.
They insist the vast majority of staff are finishing well ahead of schedule and “need to work their hours”
Yet the biggest cost is OT?
Because you don’t employ enough people to do the core work you complete simpletons!
Strange isn't it ;)
They think staff are finishing whilst also paying overtime add to that the pdas monitor when staff stop for 2 mins leave and return to the office it should be really easy to refuse overtime if it turns out staff are taking the piss.
What we're hearing now is the target is to reduce overtime by 50% however Sunday has been given a free pass so if I were a manager I might flood Sunday and get all the D2D prepped leaving extra resource for Monday to Friday.
Just a heads up for reps going into resource meetings next week.

Our D2Ds get a weeks holiday at our DO and then get a return lorry back to the mail centre.Shambles of a company.
Who needs a work too rule ballot with these tossers in charge they may as well put their bonuses into using Wembley Stadium for the next two months for all the mail they cannot deliver!

We're supposed to send any D2D returned by a DO straight back to them
Since when??
You can only do D2D on the week specified that is the rule as offers and deals were for that week or time so he is right had this argument with a manager over vouchers. He sent them back after consulting his area manager would love to have herd the conversation!
I'll set the scene.
A loading bay in a DO anywhere.
DO Bob the Bod "What's that York there?"
MC Driver "That's last weeks excess D2D, the mailcentre sent it back."
Bob "Yeah mate don't bother unloading that one."
Driver "But the mailcentre manager said."
Bob "Sorry I can't hear you over the noise not giving a f**k makes."
Short day today. Might just about clear the tracked and specials. Management will be looking to cut deals but it’s too little too late. The higher ups have ruined it for themselves yet again.

It's be unloaded and left at the DO. Excess D2D isn't a MC problem, managers say to send them straight back to the DO then that's what will happen

His MC has different rules to the rest of the network.
It's those higher ups.
We were told ages ago that any D2D sent back to the MC are to be sent straight back to the DOs. It's down to managers in DOs to raise somewhere higher up that a DO keeps getting excess and sort out in whatever system the proper amount needed
Office wide OT ban across all shifts from next week and they've given notice to terminate all SA across all shifts. The OT ban must be across all office types across the whole of RM. Will be interesting to see how it plays out with staffing levels. We might end up with the first time ever if it gets too bad when we need to pull all the staff off the mech to work in the packet and Tracked areas, sending all the mech as manual. RM seem to also be cutting right down on the numbers of casuals at the same time
