If we are now a parcel company will the new changes scrap all door to doors to allow more time for the more profitable parcel side of the business? The 'competitors' certainly don't hang around shredding farm food leaflets through letterboxes.
If RM could get them pre-collated into bundles then they could have separate duties doing them or employee people just to do them. Don't know how many they could realistically do over 8hrs
I know we are fighting for our jobs but to employ people just to deliver D2D's - that's just bizarre.

And SP have you ever tried sticking a flimsy D2D through a letterbox without a letter to help it through and the hound
of the Baskervilles on the other side of the door? No, didn't think so.
There are firms who employ people to deliver D2D so it's not bizarre. They don't have letters to poke through the letter box at the same time
Yes it is bizarre for you to suggest employing 'D2D posties', RM are saying they can't pay us 'regular' posties so where is the
extra money going to come from to pay 'D2D posties'. And I would suggest that the individuals that I've seen posting
pizza leaflets or whatever that get left hanging out the letterbox are not on national minimum/national living wage
or 'on the books' as an employee.
Guess you've missed the thread about 22,000 agency being brought in, if RM have the money to pay for all them (RM will be paying the agency more than what we're paid) then they've got the money to pay for the "D2D posties".

If we end up losing D2Ds then RM are bound to want to take more hours out of DOs
So how many D2D posties is each office supposed to have? 1 per walk in addition to the normal postie? 1 per 2 walks?
And when those 'D2D posties' have no D2D to deliver that week, what exactly are they supposed to do?
Are they just going to be D2D posties on zero hours or can they be used for other stuff like delivering
mail and parcels? Oh what just like a normal postie - now that's an idea!

Still bizarre.....

Team - thank you for all of the feedback - on later start times - following last weeks Q&A - it is very very helpful - we are listening - we want to find a balance between - the needs of the customer + leading with the environment + making sure any proposed change can work for you - this is why we have provided all of the details - so we can have an open debate.

The idea of the "open debate" and Workplace in general is to remove the CWU from the discussion and communicate directly with the staff.

having worked for a mainstream competitor I can confirm that on delivery here at RM we work to a completely different model with regards parcel delivery, where as the competitor in question is paid per drop, not only that there are differences to how the work is processed from sorting to loading, the driver at said company doesn’t actually process any sorting per se, (time saved) he/she drives from from home, backs up to loading bay the gets massive help loading in sequence from designated sorter for that delivery, driver turns up maybe say from 07:15 to 07:45 & has his/her van loaded within half hour, with up to +200 consignments over a wider delivery area, with the driver being paid per drop it’s in his/hers best interests to stay out there until clear then drive straight home (commit to complete), how will spares/reserves cope with C2C I wonder? 🤔

Team - I have had a ton of emails - from people asking if we are - implementing the later start time proposal - as part of any up and coming revision activity.
The answer is no we are not doing this - we need agree the plan - and of course - everyone will need time - to adjust to any agreed changes.
Note: I have been asked to make it clear, that some start times can change as part of revision activity - which is the normal process.
