Vote NO, make them do it the hard way; if you vote YES then RM will sell it across the media as they have listened to their workforce and that they are happy with the deal.
If you vote NO then RM will be pushed into an uncomfortable position where they will be forced to make adjustments and held accountable for changes they impose without consent.
When these changes are failing horribly then there will be more leverage.
Do not let RM pretend we are all happy with the deal, vote NO, force the issue.

I'll be shocked if the CWU can get Royal Mail to go back on the revisions that have been enforced. In our office they would literally have to revert back to how things were before, reinstating all the rounds that were cut up and added to other existing rounds.
On top of this, they need to employ 20-30% more staff.

How does the mail get delivered if they keep on making cuts? This cannot continue long termnorris9 wrote: ↑18 May 2023, 19:13I'll be shocked if the CWU can get Royal Mail to go back on the revisions that have been enforced. I disagree, the better option would-in my opinion and many others as well ~have been a work to rule, with an overtime ban , it worked elsewhere previously in this organisation. Strikes achieve precisely nothing , who wants to go down the same road as the miners and car workers of yesteryear.pieoftheday wrote: ↑17 May 2023, 20:52Not sure about Indefinite but our 18 days were pointless, we should have started with a week long strikemoonjaguar wrote: ↑17 May 2023, 20:43Cancel the ballot, sack the cwu morons and all out indefinite strike. It worked for the lawyers.

RM have been getting away with failing deliveries every day since these enforced revisions in our office. You can only keep employing ad hoc changes to get things cleared for so long (like agency staff) but it will just end up costing the company more money in the long run. The common sense approach would be to reverse some of the revisions that they have made. It's a cock-up but not one of our making.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Quite a few good honest workers in our place this week have finally hit the wall. Reality kicking in they cant do this every day and clear. Physically shot, last week our line manager asked me to take a couple of loops off X as she was worried about the hours she was doing. More and more realise they have to work to their time for their own good. The reality that more walks are coming out in a few months is a sobering thought

Imagine waking up everyday to walk 10 miles or more to a town nearby. Just think, tomorrow we have to do it all again.

A job is a job, and we should vote yes to keep our jobs, take the very generous lump sum on offer, and play the smart game. If some postal workers are not happy with the job anymore, then they should consider leaving and looking for a job that is more suited to them.
But talk of walkouts, work to rules and overtime bans is not the path to go down at all.
As I said before, accept the CWU recommended agreement, regroup, hope the next Royal Mail CEO is more conciliatory and flexible, and work together with the CWU to keep on improving conditions and pensions.

BS, we're good workers working blooming hard and, in spite of all the nonsense, demoralisation and sabotage efforts by senior management policies, giving it our best to maintain some sort of service and standards. This should not only keep us our jobs but see us rewarded.jahbalon wrote: ↑20 May 2023, 13:33A job is a job, and we should vote yes to keep our jobs, take the very generous lump sum on offer, and play the smart game. Not a chance this deal is getting accepted, it's a vote to make things worse for us and better for RM so RM might vote for it if they could but any postie in their right mind wouldn't. There needs to be some win win proposals on the table, we mustn't vote for being the losers in every sense, that would be absolutely pathetic.

No wins? How ungrateful. Have you forgotten our not backdated below inflation pay rise?nuisance wrote: ↑20 May 2023, 14:32BS, we're good workers working blooming hard and, in spite of all the nonsense, demoralisation and sabotage efforts by senior management policies, giving it our best to maintain sort sort of service and standards. A rise and a lump sum are wins. How would you reverse the £700 million worth of losses posted this week without some change? You aren’t going to keep the job like it was in the good old days and secure a pay rise while we are leaking money. I think some people have their heads in the sand.

I think if it is a no vote then the union are in a very bad place. They have already said they don't see striking as a way to resolve the dispute with the company's finance so where is the pressure going to come from.
Plus simon will be in charge until October exactly when most of the past agreement and protections will be voided if no agreement is reached.
