Was told in our meeting earlier today RM won't budge on their offer and the CWU won't be accepting the changes to the new starters T&C's and the changes to sick pay, but the feeling I got is the last thing people want is more strike dates being announced.

so by 11am tomorrow we'll know if we are striking or voting on a deal.
Hopefully they got a better pay deal and limited later starts times to 30mins.

Re: CWU : pivotal day in negotiations-We will update you fully within the next 24 hours.
Forget striking before September. All this strike now talk drives me crazy...you need a gameplan. If this dispute continues, all focus should be on autumn and winter strikes and the 3rd ballot. That's not necessarily a bad thing...since holding onto our Ace is already doing damage, especially as RM know what is likely to come...a whole month of strikes from black friday if an agreement isn't done by then has to be considered
By striking say, in the summer, you would be relieving RM of stress because striking cannot go on all year. Save it for the pressure period because RM know it'll be coming..It would be a spectacular show, whilst it gives people a chance to save and budget, gives time for talks because that sort of anxiety for RM will give them serious need to engage with CWU over the Summer
Because what RM want, they want intermittent, sporadic strikes (if any). They are easy to deal with and they become the latest reason why more EA must take place
Mike Tyson once said "you go out there and you have a plan...that is until you get punched in the face". I don't think RM have been punched in the face yet.

We have had company's proposed offer distributed on desks, and in communal areas at work, to try to circumnavigate the union and possibly swing a potential ballot. I pick them up and throw them as they are sources of potential misinformation.
Incidentally, they also don't mention our colleagues who have been unjustly fitted up by the company during our dispute. Those who have been wrongly dismissed, suspended etc.
The company have extended this dispute beyond pay and conditions.
The only deal I will consider is through the union.

URGENT UPDATE FOR ROYAL MAIL GROUP MEMBERS
“The CWU and Royal Mail group have continued talks during this week. Progress has been made in some areas against a very difficult backdrop. We understand how frustrating it has been with how much time it has taken but we must stress there are still some custard creams left. During the middle of this week we thought we were at the bottom of the biscuit tin but then Simon Thompson arrived at the talks with some jammy dodgers. Yet ANOTHER example of the underhand tactics deployed against your union. Talks will continue over this weekend with the view to reaching an agreement by early next week. The postal executive committee will be meeting next Tuesday to endorse another week of this prolonged tedious bullshit. Stick by your union and we come through this.
In solidarity

And the thing to remember is Royal Mail have just released a two page summery of an agreement document that is 30 pages long. No details of the new attendance standards or how performance management will work or what these indoor working methods they want to trial will entail or what the criteria will be for achieving a shorter working week and no details of how they will resource the DPR’s in the 346 offices.

It's not an "agreement" document though, is it?
Or is it?
They produce a 30 page document and the union produces, erm, nothing.
As Bollo in The Mighty Boosh would say- "I got a bad feeling about this".

Just as a matter of interest, all these people kicking off about later start and finish times because of the school run. What did you used to do with your kids when we started working at 5am? End of the day, we work full time , longer daily hrs than kids are at school so you're gonna miss either taking them or picking them up. You can't do both as kids are only at school for say, 6 hrs.
Think some people are just not open to even entertain the idea of changing work times. You've got to look at the positives it could bring but I guess on this forum I'm preaching mainly to a deaf brainwashed congregation.

So you pick them up and throw them? That seems fair to you?? What about the others in the office that might want to read it and make their own adult minds up? You are a bully mate, it's not for you or your actions to try and influence anyone else's view.employee1 wrote: ↑14 Apr 2023, 07:25We have had company's proposed offer distributed on desks, and in communal areas at work, to try to circumnavigate the union and possibly swing a potential ballot. Not to mention school holidays, they have 3 and a half months off school per year for goodness sakes. People act as though they'll never see their kids again. Plus, by the time kids are 10, they'll just want to go on their tablets or play with their friends. Then by the time they hit 13, that's when barley get a word out of them lolrambo1 wrote: ↑14 Apr 2023, 08:29Just as a matter of interest, all these people kicking off about later start and finish times because of the school run. Minimum wage is now almost the same as us, so it gives people a way out if they want a job with early start and finish times

TBF Im sure he’s been taking down the CWU posters that are just empty slogans like “They Are Watching You!” And “The Storm is Coming!” Because they are no different to shouting “The End Is Nigh!” on a street corner. It just fuels anxiety and adds paranoia to the workplace.rambo1 wrote: ↑14 Apr 2023, 08:34So you pick them up and throw them? That seems fair to you??
