All they’ve done is cost its members a pile of lost wages due to pointless strikes and yet they’re still trying to spin things like they are making good progress! All the ea changes have taken place in my do and you can be sure these won’t be reversed now. Folk should really think about pulling their subs to the union as the both them and the job are done for unfortunately![]()

Re: Update 1730 today
Our union is so bad.
One minute they’re talking tough about all executive action having to stop or else, the next they’re painting it as a win that the CWU will be involved in future EA.
Many of us have had no union representation for months, yet still gave them a massive show of confidence in voting yes. Now they’re dallying.
Strike dates should have been announced weeks ago. If we get a deal, great. Cancel the strikes. If we don’t get a deal, there’s at least something in the pipeline.
We’re at 7/8 months of talks with scant progress.
The union has to return a good deal by March 12th or they’ve f****d it. Given that they excel more at the latter than the former, I shan’t be holding my breath.

Re: Update 1730 today
Looks to me like the big "win" is keeping start time changes down to 30 mins.
Everything we have to put up with, and that's the hill the CWU have decided to die on. Bloody start times. Pathetic.
Hope the substantive talks produce more than this crap.

As a time served postie who’s been in the trenches since the start of this and who has also just had their duty pulled from them after years it’s an easy cheap shot from folk like yourself who are in denial and can’t see what’s coming. If you can honestly say the Union have fought this battle well then I don’t know what to say.

Good lord. I knew it wouldn’t be much but that was weaker than even I anticipated. It’s taken them over a week to agree a statement that is 3 paragraphs long and says nothing we already didn’t know and doesn’t actually commit the business to anything, just like the last joint statement a few weeks back. I dread to think what pile of garbage they are going to bring back to us on the 12th in the final deal. At least Dave found it within himself to smirk when questioned if the union had been “done over” in the negotiations.

Let’s be honest, most of the deal has already been agreed, it’s just about how it gets presented now.needadvice wrote: ↑02 Mar 2023, 18:06You cannot all of a sudden rush this through (12th march). The fast paced deadline only means that cwu will be inclined and expected to make many concessions

Re: Update 1730 today
Still you got a better idea why not go deal with the CEO and the Chairman and the whole RM Board by yourself? If your that good enough negotiator why did you not stand up and be counted in your own office? And if we are all done for what is the point and why tell us all what you have concluded. This is far from over the art of negotiating is bringing the people who do not wish to talk to you talk to you and in that we have succeeded!

Read the appendix to the joint statement , that's where all the detail is.
This is the important one when it comes to the crazy revision ideas they've been forcing through...

compliance, office clearance and the maintenance of all quality-of-service targets.

Indeed , which is a big ask as our revision is failing daily , so I’m interested to see how this pans out.Poole70 wrote: ↑02 Mar 2023, 18:37Read the appendix to the joint statement , that's where all the detail is.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

That's just for now, before the network changes have been agreed.
