It's all very well for there to be a no confidence vote in the CEO, Simon Thompson, but, with a belts and braces approach, should there also not be a vote of no confidence in the Royal Mail / IDS Chairman, Keith Williams? Surely he is the one ultimately pulling all the strings? Maybe Simon is just his puppet?

but honestly , every single trade dispute currently ongoing or luckily resolved and there are plenty, it appears that only the cwu are struggling and/or back-tracking, it show's weakness, i wish i was privvy to every office in the uk and i don't have clue on the lorry drivers and mail centre workers, but all i see is they are 1 or 2 steps ahead of us
all i can comment is on my own d/o and snippets of neighbouring places, but we have suddenly gone from a decent but overspending office to a absolute shower of shite in 2 days

Do we know that for a fact?
Even people on this forum cannot interpret ‘04:00 on Day A to 04:00 on Day C’ as actually meaning “irrespective of whether you work Earlies, Lates or Nights, you are on strike on Day A and Day B… (not Day C)”
So maybe whoever inputs Royal Mail’s social media comms made the same mistake and failed to check with management prior to posting??
Now is not the time to turn on ourselves.
CWU have learned from past disputes. If Royal Mail are serious about NEGOTIATING, not imposing things, they now have three weeks to come up with an acceptable deal or face big problems. And CWU members have this week and 3 more weeks with no loss of pay in order to gear-up for a potential 4 days loss of pay.

CWU are now going to send us voting papers with two questions
1. Do you accept Royal Mail’s pay & strings proposal? Yes/No
2. Do you have confidence in Royal Mail’s CEO, Simon Thompson? No/Yes

The results will be announced the day before RM present their half-year results for 2022/23 to the Stock Market (November 17th).
“Hi guys, we’re losing £1m a day, our workforce have no confidence in our CEO and said no to our pay offer. Wanna buy our shares?”
