Well my thoughts are next pay deal.
Monday to Friday 35 hour week with Saturday & Sunday parcels done on mix of overtime & weekend parcel delivery drivers.
If the base 7 hours was 8am to 3pm Mon to Fri that in my opinion would go some way of solving school pick up problems too.
Next deal has to be one that benefits us in some ways too not just waters down RM plans
The CWU is finished. A lame duck if ever there was one.
Royal Mail will do whatever they want, whenever they want.
That's how it is now.
You mean the Commies on this board are finished :no no
The same Commies who supported Jackson's terrible and failed strike campaign in 71. :cuppa
I can't imagine there'll be too many on here that were working for RM in 1971
Maybe not.
But there will be sons and daughters on this forum who well remember the handle bar moustached Jackson's crazy and catastrophic strike campaign in 71 ( and no Strike Pay ), that devastated posties and their families and crippled the postie's union for decades to come.

Yeah, I don't know why they cut the audio. That guy next to Tom Jackson looks like Richard Attenborough

My late Dad took part in that disastrous strike, I well remember it.

Jackson marched the posties up to the top of the hill, and then marched us all back down again,
and we were forced into settling for a pay rise which was less than what was on offer before on the table

Seven weeks on blooming strike without any strike pay and all the posties and their families were starving and couldn't pay their bills.

Meantime, Jackson and his cronies were wining and dining it up in Blackpool on full pay :coolr

Don't think much has changed

Scargill was accused of pocketing money that was donated to the striking miners. Union leaders lapping up a life of luxury whilst those on the shop floor are on the breadline. It makes you wonder if many of them are dodgy when they look after themselves first.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
