The issues that the company want to see moved forward are simply the only matters at hand.
They don’t want air, they don’t want long days in the summer(they’ll have to review their staffing approach here btw), they don’t want “generous” sick and IHR terms.
When you’re pushing a boulder uphill you don’t hope for the boulder to change, you try and manage the things in the environment that you can affect.
The bottom line is a losing battle is sometimes worth fighting but on occasion you have to stem the tide and take as few casualties as you can in order to keep yourself in the game.
Thompson and the like will leave, it is the nature of private business. The only change that will make this company succeed for all of us is a change of director level approach, fresh ideas and genuine innovation and direction.
That, for me, is the only genuine hope Royal Mail and us have of a decent, long-term future.
Until then, we keep ourselves in the game.
