Seems to me that by doing it over 3 years they can shout the numbers 10/11% and hope that some less involved employees don't listen too hard and just see the 10/11% number. When in reality its 3% per year for 3 years. Which in my opinion just isnt good enough, particularly the sneaky way they try and present it as some sort of great deal.Caesar wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 15:25Have we been offered more than the “full and final offer” or has it just been tweaked to cover 3 yrs.chickenwittle wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 15:16What happened to the full and final offer ? Were you willing to accept that as well ?dakka86 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 13:13It’s mind boggling to me people think we are going to get anything better than this deal. Yeah its crap and that’s after striking at the busiest time of year what the hell do you think striking in spring will do other than give Royal Mail back more of our wages
Some people live in fairly land and think the CWU can get us a gold plated 10% no strings attached pay rise
We have seen executive action after executive action brought in even with so called joint statements. What do you think will happen next

A conspiracy theorist would suggest you are manipulating the entire process and have no intention of making a deal?
When are Ward and Furey going to grace us with their version of events? Later today?
Do the CWU have a contingency plan?

I get your point, I wasnt intending to be awkward, some I work with would take 4.30 last letter as 4.30 finish at D.Odazzler123 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 17:45point being i have mail/parcels to bring back, and everything is supposed to be fine as it couldnt be completed in timepieoftheday wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 17:40If its 4.30 last letter that's 4.30 out on deliverydazzler123 wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 17:36So when i bring mail and parcels back at 4.30 theres no pushback from managers, right?

10% over 3 years and at the end of it it wouldn’t surprise me if national minimum wage was less than a quid difference.

That certainly is a sobering thought, I've suspected throughout this dispute that RM are totally of the opinion that this is a minimum wage job, I'm disappointed to say the least.FilthyBloke wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 19:2610% over 3 years and at the end of it it wouldn’t surprise me if national minimum wage was less than a quid difference.

I know, that's what disappoints me, the fact they think we're on par with a moderately trained monkey, yes I know to coin a phrase it's not rocket science but It's a fact we're a cut above totally unskilled work not to mention the obvious physical and working in all weathers aspect.k979aaa wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 21:44If they could pay you less they would!ted_e_bear wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 20:38That certainly is a sobering thought, I've suspected throughout this dispute that RM are totally of the opinion that this is a minimum wage job, I'm disappointed to say the least.FilthyBloke wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 19:2610% over 3 years and at the end of it it wouldn’t surprise me if national minimum wage was less than a quid difference.

Re: RMCtv : Ricky McAulay : Videos : The offer we have put to the CWU
I don't trust Tricky Ricky
New entrants on less pay, terms and conditions - I don't believe anything that he said about "levelling up". So what he's basically saying is that they giving new staff on pay barely above min wage to protect those who are already on decent pay!! That doesn't make sense and I'm not aware of many industries that work this way. I think it's more likely that they will just recruit more and more staff on crap money, hoping that they stick it. This is the road to the gig economy and if we are not careful they could use it to level down and do an Asda and force us all with new contracts to sign on worse terms and conditions.
Could they also introduce new board members and senior managers on less money?? They could save thousands easily.....
Sick pay - There will always be a few that play the sick card but they have just made the duties bigger and bigger on an ageing workforce. A lot of those go on sick with stress and I fear that this is only going to get worse.
Never mind though, just another hard fought term and condition gone that benefits the company rather than us.
Later start and finish times - They knew that 3 hours later was never going to be accepted and I don't understand why the company would need to send bigger parcels to us via air. Surely the bigger items should go to parcel force?? And if we are all starting an hour or so later, what time are the LAT staff starting at? Because the second run by the HGVs doesnt come until after dinner. Whichever way I've looked at it I honestly don't see this as being efficient nor cost effective right now and I believe the longer term plan is for us to start and finish much later, this is just a stepping stone. Lower CO2 emissions seems like a rather convoluted reason imho. It's more about utilising the parcel superhubs to save indoor hours in delivery offices and the number of HGVs being transported, so they can make fewer runs.
There are a few other things that Ricky said in the parliamentary committee about the use of PDAs to try to make it plausible that they could use it as workplace monitoring tool, even though Simon said otherwise in the 1st committee. This guy is the sort of fella that would stab a postie in the back to further his own career and I just don't trust him

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Performance management and data use
• The use of data & technology will continue to help improved performance across the operation; a pilot of a new ‘MyPerformance app/tile’ on PDAs to push key walk/route based safety and customer information will give colleagues improved information on how they are performing
• Data will be used in a supportive manner and assist our workplace coaches in targeted coaching where it is required. The 1980 outdated performance improvement process (NCI) will be replaced with a new fit for purpose framework based on ACAS best practice.
Looking forward to receiving some 'targeted coaching' when I don't complete multiple days work in one shift.
