The reality is this 'family friendly' option wont materialise because the whole point of having us start later is because the mail and parcels from mail centre wont be arriving into the unit until later.
What good is it having people starting earlier when theres nothing to sort? If some people can start early then there is no justification for everyone else to have to start later.
So no one will be able to start early imo dont fall for it

If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

If people haven't done that up until now, then they aren't going to start.norris9 wrote: ↑01 Feb 2023, 17:48Royal Mail bringing in the changes THEY want, not what we want....
Again - they are shafting you and they don't care...
Shaft them back by not working a single minute for free. No starting early, no finishing late, take every minute of your breaks. No rushing. Do the van checks.
However, van checks has never been optional - it's a straight conduct issue if you miss a few of them.

All these revisions throughout the country but has anyone actually refused to change hours or is everyone just complaining on here but complying with whatever is happening. Has anyone tried taking RM to court. Nothings changed in our unit YET but told revisions are coming February

Good point, implied consent aint it unless you claim constructive dismissal, which no one will be doingcalsae wrote: ↑01 Feb 2023, 19:39All these revisions throughout the country but has anyone actually refused to change hours or is everyone just complaining on here but complying with whatever is happening. Locally we have had a roll back on the start times they wanted us to change to as they were told there wouldn’t be compliance. They also seem to be about to give up on the blanket 1 in 6 approach. Stick together and make your voices heard.calsae wrote: ↑01 Feb 2023, 19:39All these revisions throughout the country but has anyone actually refused to change hours or is everyone just complaining on here but complying with whatever is happening. Wow. I remember talk of refusing to adhere to later starts in 2007 and absolutely nothing came of it locally or nationally. Might have got a few more years of being done at noonClappedoutpostie wrote: ↑01 Feb 2023, 21:42Locally we have had a roll back on the start times they wanted us to change to as they were told there wouldn’t be compliance.

Later starts? Bring it on.
A normal, healthy working day should not start in the small hours and finish at lunchtime ish. And there's no need for it.
9 to 5 is a modern civilised working day.

I do all those things anyway, apart from the van checks because I have the same van everyday so it seems rather silly checking the tyres I know are fine, so it doesn't really get me much further forward.Barnacle wrote: ↑01 Feb 2023, 17:58It’s the only way.norris9 wrote: ↑01 Feb 2023, 17:48Royal Mail bringing in the changes THEY want, not what we want....
