Re: Royal Mails proposed criteria for compulsory redundancies
Another thing to add;
At no time have RM indicated to non driving employees that they are not capable or skilled enough to do the job and would need to get a driving license. But then why would they though when.......we capably do our jobs everyday as intended.
I would challenge the legality of using no driving license to make redundant without any prior advanced notice to non driving employees that they would need a driving license to continue to do the job.

I agree that not everyone needs one to do the job as it was not required in the day and there are many and will be many jobs for people without a driving licence. But because some small minded person thinks so does it make it his right well he has come out with some very dodgy comments about us all and the way he sees fit for the business. Non of this has a legal stand point it is games on social media no contracts this is very odd don't you all think it is mind games? It is time simple simon stopped playing games and started talking turkey or he will be goosed by Christmas day!Acca Dacca wrote: ↑29 Nov 2022, 21:43Another thing to add;

I could train a chimpanzee to use the machines in a mc inside 30 minutes…feeling safe now?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑29 Nov 2022, 19:55Reading the OP in processing looks like anyone who is mech trained is effectively 100% safe
I suppose what I’m trying to say is we’re stronger sticking together rather than falling for every bit of RM comms.

One I DID not know your start date or the function of your job but as you say IT is Not IN YOUR CONTRACT that is all that matters. I don't make this crap up someone does and you know who and every time simple simon comes on workplace you guys lap it up it is mind games. Take this to any court in the land without a legally binding agreement he is breaking the terms of your contract! Re: Royal Mails proposed criteria for compulsory redundancies
I reckon another reason (not listed) they will get rid of people will be PDA data. Those who deliver alot of packets on a daily basis will be seen as keeper's.
Those who have a history of making mistakes with scanning on delivery or not delivering as much as other will be seen as a liability.
RM are really on the warpath here. Didn't know they would stoop as low as to say non driver's can go. So posties with 20+ years of experience but no driving will be gotten rid of? Disgraceful of them to even suggest.

Well here is the law: https://www.gov.uk/dismiss-staff#:~:tex ... 0dismissal.
As for everything it is an interpretation of the law that counts and how it is presented in the courts people/firms with very good legal representation have found it a bad place to be and this is the same one in all for both sides of the parties.

So basically, if you've been conscientious and hardly had time off, you're being penalised by being less likely
to get redundancy, yet lazy/useless staff and staff abusing the sick system will get rewarded. Seems about right....

I know it’s not a laughing matter but this did make me chuckle. It says a lot about what Royal Mail has became that keeping your job is seen as a punishment and losing your job is seen as a reward.Ferrari5825 wrote: ↑30 Nov 2022, 06:58So basically, if you've been conscientious and hardly had time off, you're being penalised by being less likely

If they fire you for not driving then take it to a tribunal and you’ll most likely get a tasty pay off.

They’ll be bankrupt - there must be thousands on delivery who don’t drive!!kazardaimenu wrote: ↑30 Nov 2022, 07:47If they fire you for not driving then take it to a tribunal and you’ll most likely get a tasty pay off.
