Re: Customers? What customers?
I’m assuming at this point this is just one office where they’re in the sh*t and it’s a manager there trying to deal with failed tracked and specials?
Not a new national policy surely.

That system has been unofficially in operation at my office for 2 years.
I know colleagues from a big office 2 towns over that told me that they do the same thing.
There will be plenty of posties not surprised to see that notice

Oh I know it goes on. But I’m interested to know if this is sanctioned at the top as a “usual practice” thing from now on.POSTPERSON50 wrote: ↑04 Nov 2022, 10:26That system has been unofficially in operation at my office for 2 years.

It’s like if you’re not taking half your delivery (letters) then you don’t even have to tell them, cos it’s outside your “expected workload”.

Most of the birthday cards you deliver are underpaid as well, and lots of businesses underpay their items too, and none of them are surcharged.qwerty2 wrote: ↑04 Nov 2022, 07:56There’s still money in letters - I get uncanceled stamps in every bundle every day and the odd parcel with £3 or £4 worth of stamps uncanceledrichietns wrote: ↑04 Nov 2022, 07:49There's still money in letters there not loss making yet 60%parcels 40%mail from Simons own figures, they just wants to cut headcount 3-5 day uso as for important mail hospital appointments, bank cards, insurance docs,Council letters, voting letters,s**t loads of junk mail not to mention d2ds which is a huge money earner and thats just a quick list.KnowItAll wrote: ↑03 Nov 2022, 23:10Hospitals have mastered email. matter anymore ?. Unbelievable and to think I used to be proud to work for this company !. 38 years service here and how much longer is anyone 's guess.
I bet most workers don’t even look at them - people reusing the stamps - losing money![]()
So why bother cancelling stamps. If the dispatching office can't be bothered to cancel them, nor can I. Don't have time in any case.

Re: Customers? What customers?
Is that the Workplace guy, cause I don't think it's his office?
I’ve been sent home to reflect. Not sure why to be fair
It seems after I did a bit of digging that it has come from the BT82 office in NI

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Whether it’s authentic or not that IS the policy of most offices at the moment
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Pretty confident this piece of paper doesn't fall under official secrets act. If it was an official secret then the person responsible for putting it up in the office is the one in big trouble. However, nowhere on that image does it state that this is for "company employee eyes only". Posting that picture on here is really no different than putting up a photo of a calendar or a RM van on its side on a country lane.

Add another question to the workplace ballot- - - Have you instructed by a manager to prioritise/ stream mail etc.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑04 Nov 2022, 11:37Whether it’s authentic or not that IS the policy of most offices at the moment
A national picture as to how widespread this practice is would be useful in negotiations

Re: Customers? What customers?
What a predictable response of mock outrage from all the workshy old timers on here who still long for the days when RM was a highly inefficient ''public service''... where mail deliveries to every household 6 days a week were more relevant and necessary than they are now.
Fair enough, the content of that poster (if it's genuine) does suggest the current USO is potentially being breached... but the current USO is a farce, an outdated, inefficient anachronism, which hopefully (for the sake of any and all posties who want to keep their job) will soon be reviewed and significantly reduced.
