National Insurance up, food prices up, oil and gas up, Minimum wage up....

Our wages not moving, but take that 2 days mail out and make sure you complete it which means you will be going over your contracted hours for a pittance of a wage and go home with legs that feel like concrete.
Why have you got to complete it? And wehy have you got to go over your contracted hours? Perhaps you need to start looking for alternative employment if you think RM are holding a gun to your head and making you do things you don't have to for pittance wages?
Exactly, grow a backbone and say no thanks.

Day 7 of no new payrise.

This week the new NI deductions kick in, so as from tomorrow for those on weekly pay our basic takehome pay will have actually gone down....
I think im right in thinking that actually we’ll be slightly better off over the course of the year despite the new NI thing? Cant remember how to explain it but saw it explained on tv yesterday.
Correct, the amount you earn until NI kicks in will be higher from July. Anyone earning 34k or lower will gain.

Was £10.25 now up to £11.45. So yes lower but still a good pay rise in terms of percentage and much more than other Supermarkets are paying.

I know it's a "discussion" forum but you're trying to compare apples to oranges. It really doesn't matter what Tescos, or Sainsburys are doing.

What might be of more relevance is the fact that the CWU (our Union) has just turned down the latest offer from BT calling it "insulting" and "a relative pay cut".They (the CWU) were pushing for a 10% payrise in the face of rampant inflation.

Well that's obviously why we haven't been hearing anything from them because they're busy over at BT? I hope they're looking for a similiar deal for us. AND they reckon they're going to ballot over IA.

In the meantime while everyones talking our bills are still going up. :cuppa

Can they really only negotiate one deal at a time?

You'd like to think they could multitask a little bit...Maybe consider our payrise as their lapsing in an "any other business" at the end of the afternoon...

Well who's going home with legs like concrete and being paid pittance of a wage for pushing junk through letter boxes all while being told to make sure they complete 2 days worth of mail?

Good Post

They rejected 8% which worked out around £1500 a year. Lets see what offer they can get for us ? Any thoughts ?
