The fine is already calculated and paid for, it is part of the plan. They always factor it in.Duesouth wrote: ↑17 May 2023, 18:37So the CWU have asked the board to make sure every office has a fair and balanced workload, which is fair enough.
But there are many problems asking them to be clear and honest that these revisions are going to be put in place properly and not forgotten about once the ballot comes back as a yes (optimistic).
What can the union do if they don't agree to the agenda for growth, do we call another strike? Probably not because that would waste everyone's time, and RM will just carry as normal and pretend that they don't have enough cash and can't recruit staff because they don't have any money. The worst turn out for RM right now is a fine from Ofcom and continue as normal.
We have no staff, the money saved pays this bill.
OFCOM are toothless because they rely on Royal mai management for truthful information.
How many lied under oath?

I have always wanted to remain loyal to the CWU but I cannot vote for this deal! I don’t work in deliveries but the crap deal means this is the start of the shitslide in to gig economy T&C’s. I feel that of late the CWU have been way too soft on RM, it’s their fault (RMG) that the company is in financial trouble, not ours! The economy’s must come from at the boardroom expense and shareholders who have reaped the rewards of members efforts. I can definitely see a reduction in support and or membership if this current surrender plan continues maybe it’s time for new blood at the top of the union?

You can’t be serious about an indefinite strike?moonjaguar wrote: ↑17 May 2023, 20:43Cancel the ballot, sack the cwu morons and all out indefinite strike. It worked for the lawyers.
The striking option has now bolted the Christmas strikes didn’t work and no way are people going to walk out indefinitely most would manage two days tops before going back in and Royal Mail know this.

Not sure about Indefinite but our 18 days were pointless, we should have started with a week long strikemoonjaguar wrote: ↑17 May 2023, 20:43Cancel the ballot, sack the cwu morons and all out indefinite strike. It worked for the lawyers.

Happy to admit that after the agreement was reached I was planning on voting yes but in the last two weeks my mind has been changed quite drastically to a 100% NO! The company is a horrible place to work. The job is INCREDIBLE but unfortunately for us the people who run it do not have a f**king clue. The revisions & lack of staff due to a ban on employing has ruined our office, morale is dead, people retiring/leaving every week!!!! Madness! The CWU will never have any power to reverse the revisions if we vote yes!!!
NO, NO, NO!
NO, NO, NO!

I agree we should have gone harder out the gate but I still feel you would have had people going back in after a few days. The union had a to balance action with not trying to hurt people majorly in the pocket.pieoftheday wrote: ↑17 May 2023, 20:52Not sure about Indefinite but our 18 days were pointless, we should have started with a week long strikemoonjaguar wrote: ↑17 May 2023, 20:43Cancel the ballot, sack the cwu morons and all out indefinite strike. I feel the company were always one step ahead but a better senior management would have had it sorted before Xmas.

The fact of the matter is this is short term employment now and that coincides with a short term agreement. They aren't even honouring it during that term (uso). You are never going to get a 40 year stint out of this shower now. The terms are going to be continuously reduced until you have employees who work a year or two and move on. I'm fortunate to have been on a regular duty and the dpd regular changes rapidly. I don't know if that's significant but I have a feeling its down to casual workers.
