What is the Unions' solution to the state a lot of DOs are in?

Dunno about the unions solution, but in our office the rep had the walks timed. Our delivery span now is basically 4.5 hours so indoor work was put in so we're out early enough to complete. Doesn't always work of course as some are naturally slower than others ect, but walk failures have dropped from around 50% to 15%. The walks are obviously big, but are achievable with no oversized on most days. Problem is it's dead currently, and if as they claim they'll get 50% of the contracts back if this deal goes ahead, what happens then? The only bonus us they're on about making contracts up as the currently levels of overtime being paid out in early morning sorting is insane.
